Well, it has to be a big mountain. We got a large group in the college football Hall of Fame, and more who were stars in hoops in college and the NBA. I refuse to limit myself to 4 for each sport.
Let's list all who are deserving - at an indisputable level.
Let's start with football:
Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, Floyd Little, John Mackey, Larry Csonka, Daryl "Moose" Johnston, Marvin Harrison, Art Monk, Joe Morris, Dwight Freeney, Jim Ringo (the center on all those Lombardi Packer teams), Donovan McNabb, Tim Green, Chandler Jones, Kevin Mitchell.
That's 15 all-time greats of the modern era, not counting old-time guys like Vic Hanson or Wilmeth Sadat-Singh, or coaches like Ben, Mac and Pasqualoni.
OK, on to the basketball side:
All-Time Greats (college, remember): Dave Bing, Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Coleman, Billy Owens, Pearl Washington, Sherman Douglas, John Wallace, Gerry McNamara, Hakim Warrick.
That's 9 that are kind of beyond debate, for me, and then you have another 10-15 guys who deserve honorable mention. Boeheim of course as the coach and architect of the program.
I probably should add Lawrence Moten, too, since I believe he was the all-time leading scorer in Big East history when his career ended, like Sherm was the all-time leading assist leader.
