I dont like making score and record predictions but I will participate in this. Im curious to see other people's choices. Ex factors doesnt have to be player. Im excited fellas. 1 day away. There's nothing like this time of the year. Lets go!!!!

Offensive MVP - Sean Tucker ( Consistent runner, best combination of power and speed weve seen in awhile. We are going to establish the run this year)

Defensive MVP - Mikel Jones ( Hard worker, good leader, knows the scheme and has good instincts despite his size, knack for making plays)

Offensive Newcomer - Chris Bleich ( We will get a consistent push from him on the run game and he will help give the QB's time to go through progressions)

Defensive Newcomer - Duce Chestnut ( He seemed to make plays throughout the spring and summer, Im hoping he shows that play making ability)

Most Improved Offense - Courtney Jackson ( Was making plays throughout the off season, Im hoping he continues that)

Most Improved Defense - Marlowe Wax ( I liked him last year and wanted him to play more. He is gonna benefit from a full off season)

X-Factor Offense - Taj Harris ( Because he can line up anywhere, Im expecting a big statistical year for him, he makes the defense have to account for him which open things up for others)

X-Factor Defense - Jason Simmons ( He provides versitility, might be able to play multiple spots in the secondary. Thats going to be important for us)

Money, did Duce enroll early / participate in spring ball -- if so, I feel better about his learning curve being accelerated, and him starting as a true frosh.

I’m game
Offensive mvp: taj, I think the offense starts moving again and he gets back to wr1 putting up big numbers
Defensive MVP: Kingsley Jonathan, he’s progressed every year and I think he finally gets some more shine.
offensive new comer: I would say Schmidt for an improved overall line, but for player I’ll say Alford breaks the line up before seasons end and has a nice season.
Defensive new comer: Jason Simmons, hoping he gets sprinkled around a couple db spots and makes a bunch of plays.
Most improved offense: servais, I think he can be a solid acc lineman and last year was not indicative of his talent.
Most improved defense: rob Hanna not that I thought he played bad last year but for him to seperate himself him camp according to babers with jahad. I have raised expectations.
X factor offense: jarveon Howard. I think he will reprise that role behind Tucker and make some big plays
X factor defense: mikel Jones, can he continue his break neck speed of creating turn overs.

I was torn between Howard and Lutz. So I went with Courtney Jackson lol. Good call with Servais and I like the Kingsley pick too.

Yea I like lutz but there is just something about the way Howard runs. I don’t see him staying on the sidelines for long, hope they find room for them all to contribute.

Like Benson. Expect him to finally be used.
Gadsden to become a star
Duce and LaCrosse
Pena

Offensive MVP - Sean Tucker (in full agreement with money)

Defensive MVP - Garrett Williams (Will shut down his side of the field. Big, big asset in scheme)

Offensive Newcomer - Schmidt and a serviceable OL

Defensive Newcomer - Chestnut

Most Improved Offense - QB Room (big benefits from OL's improvement and the RBs)

Most Improved Defense - Hmmm. Not sure. Hanna?

X-Factor Offense - Elmore/Benson

X-Factor Defense - Old farts on the DL lol

Need offensive breakout to be one of the two QB's. If it isn't, we're likely still behind the 8-ball and poised to have a sub-.500 year.
I think Tommy will have a break out year, if the offensive lineman can have a break out season. We just need these guys to pick up the blitz without having to keep in extra TE's and RB's. Tommy's numbers show he's an elite QB when he's not getting sacked.

This whole team starts with the offensive line. Keep Tommy upright, and the passing numbers improve dramatically, which allows the running game to improve because the safeties and LB's won't creep up. This allows us to sustain drives, which keeps the defense off the field and fresh, which in turn improves their numbers and how aggressive they can be.

Back to the original thread:

Offensive MVP - Tommy Devito
Defensive MVP - Mikel Jones
Offensive Breakout - Entire Offensive Line
Defensive Breakout - Marlowe Wax

Offense - Tucker MVP, Gadsden newcomer , Devito most improved, Elmore x-factor

defense - Jones mvp, chestnut newcomer, black most improved, Thompson x-factor

OMVP Harris
DMVP Thompson

O Surprise Trebor Pena
D Surprise Cantin Arku

x Howard
x Harper

Offensive MVP - Sean Tucker -With both overall production and extending drives

Defensive MVP - Mikel Jones - The leader of a game changing LB group

Offensive Newcomer - Damien Alford - I just picture a lot of Fades and jump balls for TTD's in the back of the endzone. He really opens the red zone for us. Chris Bleich rejuvenating the oline is probably the most important ala Koda Martin

Defensive Newcomer - Duce Chestnut - Can we just recruit DB with cool names like Duce Trill and Cisco. It seems to be working

Most Improved Offense - Sharod Johnson - He won the starting job, I'm hoping he shows us why

Most Improved Defense - Marlowe Wax - Heard so many good things about him in camp. This group should be special.

lol Black has been here forever. I think he was one of the first commits after Dino got the job.

Seems to be some consistent opinions on many of the categories, so let me throw this in - surprising position group TE’s - I have a sneaky feeling that Mang and Benson will have much more to do this season, notwithstanding the fact that Rhino is the named starter.

Respect it.

Offensive MVP - Sean Tucker ( Consistent runner, best combination of power and speed weve seen in awhile. We are going to establish the run this year) Agreed, Best Since Joe Morris

Defensive MVP - Mikel Jones ( Hard worker, good leader, knows the scheme and has good instincts despite his size, knack for making plays) Agreed, being in The literal middle of the defense gives Mikel a better chance to have a bigger impact that Garrett who may be the slightly better player

Offensive Newcomer - Chris Bleich ( We will get a consistent push from him on the run game and he will help give the QB's time to go through progressions) No clue, has to be Alford or Sharod depending on who wins that battle?

Defensive Newcomer - Duce Chestnut ( He seemed to make plays throughout the spring and summer, Im hoping he shows that play making ability) Agreed, it‘s between him, RGLBL or Simmons

Most Improved Offense - Courtney Jackson ( Was making plays throughout the off season, Im hoping he continues that) I think this is Tommy, between his health, improvement and newfound protection, he is more likely to be elite than look like some of his lower moments

Most Improved Defense - Marlowe Wax ( I liked him last year and wanted him to play more. He is gonna benefit from a full off season) Hanna, the fact he jumped a bunch of guys last year as a true frosh with no training camp, weighing in at a buck sixty and now has a year in the system and a year to get stronger, he is gonna bring that S. Fl. Playmaking swag

X-Factor Offense - Taj Harris ( Because he can line up anywhere, Im expecting a big statistical year for him, he makes the defense have to account for him which open things up for others) I think Taj is a shoo-in, but the OL will be the x-factor that makes all the records (Taj, Tucker, Tommy) available to be broken

X-Factor Defense - Jason Simmons ( He provides versitility, might be able to play multiple spots in the secondary. Thats going to be important for us) DL, now that the boys know the scheme and they have had a year to train for it (quicker/trimmer) they need return to 2018 production levels, as there is plenty of talent, depth and experience to do so.

Good stuff. You made some good points. Particularly Hanna. For him to cement himself as a starter. That says a lot.

Some one said that Ohio's linebackers were short and light. Should start the game with TD under center, send Mang across the Middle, see how many linebackers he can run over. That should open up a lot of options, and eliminate any possibility of a blitz.

Offensive MVP - Tommy Devito - we so need a quality year at QB and believe he can with a working line.

Defensive MVP - Mikel Jones, slightly over Garrett Williams. I just like his name.

Offensive Newcomer - Chris Bleich, and the entire OL - hopefully like a new OL altogether

Defensive Newcomer - Duce Chestnut

Most Improved Offense - Luke Benson

Most Improved Defense - Marlo Wax

X-Factor Offense - Taj Harris

X-Factor Defense - Garrett Williams

Pretty on the money with this assessment, money.

Jones was quiet in this game but Wax was criminally aggressive lol. Love that kid. And Duce/Garrett were amazing as a tandem.

Jackson was very quiet, hope to see more out of him and the vertical passing game in general.
