Kids played another tough game and played hard which is a great sign for the future. This team hasn't quit.
JM is a gamer. He has a good arm not Tommy great but good. He is a solid runner not ED great but solid. What he does have thats excellent is poise. Cool as a cucumber. Cool hand luke to use a Dino movie reference. Excellent vision and pocket awareness. Hes as raw as any frosh but his poise makes up for it. He can improvise ans his vision is excellent. My 2 cents is the kid has that "it" factor. His upside is huge.

Tucker played another good game. Its obvious he is still hurt. As to the fumble wasn't forward progress stopped??

Taj Q Nyk all solid. Want more Hendrix Benson and the younger guys.

OL was ok which is better than awful. Cav is on the clock. Lets hope its all about the injuries. My 2 cents is we need a coaching upgrade.

The D played very well. They bent but didn't break and they never gave up. IF Dino can land a few big DLs via juco or portal we will be very good next year. Hope Dino can convince some of these guys to return. LBs are going to become a strength as the frosh grow up. DBs are really strong and again just need to add some muscle.

Cooney continues our run of great punters and Smytzy is money.

Negatives continue to be a lack of discipline. There is no excuse for these. Dino needs to do a push up for each penalty yard as this is 100% on him. Ohana needs to get his act together on this aspect of his team.

Other observations are based on a lack of Offensive game planning. I realize we are beat up and young but why didnt we utilize our TEs more. Short throws.. Also the use of the clock. It was obvious during certain parts of the game the D was gassed yet we didnt use the clock. Great coaches manage these areas well Dino not so much.

All in all it was a solid effort. JM is a keeper.
Lets get some more kids healthy and finish strong.

Offensive play calling astounds me. What are they attempting to do; certainly it seems they telegraph many of their plays and don’t seem to utilize the strengths of our players in any creative way!

Its a hodge podge for sure. Very little rhythm.

I think our TEs are overrated by many posters. Certainly Benson has ideal speed.

For next season, I wonder if Roscoe and Jonathan might return. Unlike Black and Williams, these two have not been multi-year starters here. Then, focus on a transfer NT and a S with good size.
For that offense, we need balance with more success on first downs. There won’t be rhythm if our QBs are always facing 2nd and long. And that success can only come with better run blocking.

The offense seemed to do a few good things early with some pace. I was surprised because at times it seemed faster than we've seen all year. I thought I actually saw them slow it down in the second half and assumed it was to try and give the D a break.

We do not use our TEs much because they are needed to block because our OL is so pitiful.

I disagree on the defense, every week they are getting run over up the middle, tackling technique is poor. We will not win as long as teams can run it down our throats. It can be said they never gave up though. I doubt we can get significant improvement from transfers.

As to getting kids healthy, hah, before the season Dino was saying we should get help on the OL by week four, still waiting.
