Okay, wanted to get some discussion on the two deep for the offense going. If things go normally, the SUAD will release a two deep for offense and defense tomorrow.

Here is what I think we will see for the offensive unit:

QB: Devito/Culpepper
RB: Pierce/Jordan
OWR: Harris/Alford
OWR: Queeley/Hendrix
IWR: N Johnson/Pena
IWR: S Johnson/C Jackson
TE Hackett/Benson
OT: Servais/Petry
OT: Bergeron/Barclay
OG: Tisdale/Froumy
OG: P Davis/Ilaoa
C: Vetterello/Kosciol

PK: Szmyt/J Williams
P: J Williams/Cooney
KO: J Williams
LS: Bolinsky/Kelly
PR: T Williams
KOR: Tucker/Pena

With all the injuries, depth on the OL is alarmingly low. Gotta hope our starters can stay healthy until the starting guards and the top backup at OT can play. This is going to be one of the keys for the season.

I think we all know who the top 3 are at OWR and IWR. I am guessing Alford and Pena are the 4th at these two positions, but these are just guesses.

I think Pierce will be listed as the 1st team RB but Jordan is going to get the most playing time. Great players find a way to get to the playing field. I think that is happening here. Lots of freshmen on the two deep at the skilled positions. Let’s hope they are as good as I think they are.

Hoping J Williams kicks off and shows a really strong leg. Sterling did a great job punting but his work kicking off was also a big reason our special teams were...well, special. It is always a concern when you end up relying on a true frosh to punt. Let’s hope James has what it takes. I know our staff really likes him.

If we end up with Trill and Ticker returning punts and kickoffs respectively, it is going to make for must see TV when these guys touch the ball.

Assuming “Pierce” = Pierre, Markenzy.

What about the other Davis?
Does he have an “owie” ;)

Chris Bleich will get his approval in November, right after the season gets canned.

So no tight end in the two deep? I think our tight ends are going to be a big part of the offense. Also, the extra blocker seems critical

Agreed. I think AH will replace one of the inside WR as a starter.

Im extremely happy with how the WRs are developing better than I thought . You see how Tristian made the rams ! That’s awesome so happy for him . Last year some criticism of tommy was he went to Tristan to much
Well let’s see ... no time to go to options so let me see number 86 had the best understanding by far on how to read a defense, had the best hands and ran the best routes and now made it to the NFL what a horrible person to target the most

So happy for Tristan, but he had alot of polish coming here and natural talent. The rest of the wrs have yet to show development minus Harris and he needs to show more connection and maturity with TD. We need 2 or 3 guys to step up and show they are starters and threats in this O. Hopefully they hit the ground running this year.

Would it be desperate or brilliant to slip in both Hackett and Benson together as the slot receivers at the same time? Just alternate the routes and keep the DBs guessing, one does a 12-yd curl and the other some kind of hitch and go fake curl.

Reading a defense on the fly is crucial for our WRs and that has a lot to do with who plays and who doesn’t.

Very true and more important with an oline that will make TD make some quick decisions or buy some time for secondary and tertiary reads.

Correct with polish but they as a whole will be good

In honor of the Tour De France; I think we have the makings of a solid peloton, we need Harris to be that Amba-like lead receiver...

Funny as fans we all have great ideas that we seldom see . I wanted Jordan in the slot sometimes but thats not happening
Coaches especially dino is loyal to his seniors as well . Gilbert has lots more options that should quell some of the head scratching from the last 2 years

Im not disagreeing with the point you’re making... but I think Taj is going to end up proving he has much better hands

We have a few proven commodities to throw to: T Harris, N Johnson, L Benson, and even A Hackett.

And so much potential coming up: C Jackson, E Hendrix, Ja' Williams, and D Alford

Let's get it done this year

And Ha! We LOVE names that end in Williams:

Bear Williams
Trill Williams
Ja'vonte Williams
Garrett Williams
James Williams

I don't think Barclay is in the 2 deep year 1. He needs to add 20-30 pounds. I think Dakota Davis and Anthony Red will play over he and one of the other Frosh listed. Still holding out hope that Qadir puts it together at some point as well.

Was having trouble getting excited for the season and this made it even worse...
(great insight and thanks for posting)

Sorry, just forgot to include the TEs, With Benson adding all that muscle, I am hoping he and Aaron get all the PT here in 2020. Elmore is probably better suited to playing FB, OG and DT.

I love Chris but it is important for a TE to be able to run and catch the ball.
