Both should want it done as soon as possible. Need to get that full week of recruiting in

Money will be fine should be a little more than what Frost got and that will be a big raise over his current pay.

Ok Rhule might be in play this weekend too even though I think he is best suited for either Rutgirls or Maryland. He recruits well in NJ, PA, MD & FL.

I think the Board is overplaying Babers right now...I personally like Babers because Ive always like the Baylor offense over any other including Oregon. I am not sure if it's working out behind the scenes...

Good point. If Coyle hasn't had a formal interview with Babers, he's likely talked extensively with his agent. The agent is the one to convince and he'll do much of the selling to Babers.

Yes, and now reality is setting in. How many P5 teams are going to offer you $10 to $12.5 million or so. You're 54 and any blips can knock you off the radar for a time.

Even with no major bumps in the road, the age factor becomes a bigger one with each passing year, especially with the general trend to look for the next young, up-and-coming coach. I think he knows that now is the time to make a move and get the big payday, which helps explain the "less than ideal situation" comment.

I have always thought we would wind up with him. The schools in front of us were always going to pass because of his age, which is a plus for us. I also think he like the dome.

If we are pinching pennies I don't see how we are going pay Rhule...

We would have to pay the following...

1- A raise for Rhule. Currently making 1.5 so would he need 2.5 to make the move?
2- I believe the buyout for Rhule is huge like 3 mil.
3- And still pay Shafer salary next year 1.? mil.

That is too much for Syracuse to bite I think

I thought it was 3 million buyout too, was making sure I hadn't misread that. No way we're signing Rhule.
 
Hope you guys are right about Babers just hearing stuff maybe it's just noise or smoke to downplay the stupid tweets and keep the real target out of spotlight. I do hope we get a Briles disciple...either Babers or Montgomery. Probably just noise on my end.

I agree might interview to put pressure on Babers or to satisfy certain people who want things to remain the same and get a defensive first northeast meathead.
 
Even if for some reason Babers doesn't want SU, most of the major dominos have fallen and by Friday his choice could be here or wait a year in which some of his luster may wear off. I'm pretty sure he said through "sources" it was his intention to get out of Bowling Green so he must know that the offer will be there from someone.
