Hi dasher. I did my work out and while taking a shower after, I actually thought, and mean it, you know, a bowl game is still possible. beat B.C., and they blow, and it's just 2 out of 3. Now before you call the guys in the white coats for me, The Ville is beatable and listen, we were close against N.C. state and Pitt. Anyone else want to raise their hand at this meeting?

We can absolutely beat BC, Duke, Louisville .
None of them are special.
Our problem is getting our OL and QB to play well enough to win 3 games.

I said in another thread if we fix the OL next year our schedule sets up to win 7-8 games.
This isn’t a long rebuild. The ACC outside of Clemson isn’t that great.

Most sane thing ive read all weekend

Ok ok, I can’t help myself. My ONLY issue with this thought is based on the OL penalties alone, our margin for error every game is so slim. I think we can beat those teams but it’s little things we’ve seen every game that make it hard for me to think we can win a few more. Just because one stupid penalty can kill the game winning drive in any game.

But I don’t think we’re worse than those teams. This season has been so strange, for lack of a better word.

It's certainly possible that the game slows down for a few of our linemen and we see some changes in play calling and how TD handles things. Growth happens even in bad losses and at a number levels. I think we still have major problems at center that are not fixable this season and we will still see push up the middle. I would love to see how the offense would run with rolling TD out right or left some.

Beat BC (must win) and go into the bye week with 4 wins. Lick our wounds and regroup. Come out of bye and split between @Duke and @Louisville, then go into the Wake game with 5 wins with a win needed to get to a bowl game would be pretty sweet all things considered.

TD isn’t even mediocre at throwing on the run. As a matter of fact if he pulls the ball down he should run it 100% of the time to limit his confusion.

I think 4-8 is a stretch right now. We played a combined 1 decent game against P5 competition (2nd half of NC State and 2nd half of Pitt). What is broken can be fixed so that next year is a 7-8 win season. I do not believe it can be fixed for this year to be better than 4 wins

bowl games mean squat to me. what i want for this program is respect and rankings. i don't want to limp into the nothingfornachos bowl based on a minimum win total. i want to crush opponents and roll to a real bowl.

In order to do that we’ll have to limp into a meaningless bowl this year. Walk before run in most cases.

I have been thinking this way all weekend. Here’s what is getting to my head recently...

There have been many complaints about play calling. We see the middle of the field open. We (fans) see what we think would work. Mike Lynch/Dino are not coaches who are in over their head. So... why? Why are we not changing things up to get different looks over the middle. There has to be a belief that talent isn’t allowing them so do certain things, which is why they’re calling games this way. I’m struggling with the asking if why right now. I digress, but I agree. Beat BC. Take one of Duke/Ville (I think duke will be the easier of the two), then let it come down to one game against Wake.

Cut out the confusing blocking scheme crap, and just line it up and pound the rock to Adams. When he gets tired, mix in Moe and Howard. Only throw when the defense isn’t expecting it, and can’t pin their ears back. Hope our defense shows up, and special teams comes through and try to white knuckle 3 W’s 2010 style.

I don’t hate the enthusiasm, but unfortunately I didn’t smoke my lunch today so no I don’t think it’s possible. Our o line is the worst in the country, our QB has noooo confidence, we are making tons of mental errors, and every other team on our schedule has won impressive games, we beat Liberty, holy cross and Western Michigan yuck.

I think it is possible we can beat BC and Louisville,, but I do not see us beating Duke at Duke.

I would add one thing put in Welch at QB, if we are not going to pass much Welch is a better choice for a grinder offense.

You see us beat Lville at Lville? There offense scored at will on UVA and looks light years better then ours. That game looks like a bad matchup
