I think he’s another guy who’s BARE MINIMUM second option. With the amount of $$ paid to Calvin Russell there is zero chance he is not our #1 starting WR.

Just because he's getting paid doesn't make him WR1 no matter what. He'll certainly get an opportunity in practice to show what he has though. He'll still have to mostly earn it. I love Russell's athletic ability and upside. He'll have the best combination of height, speed and agility at WR right away. But as a true freshman, i'm just not sure he is polished enough of a WR to be the best we have from day 1. He has played a fair amount of QB in HS as well.
I certainly think he plays a lot. I'm just guessing he'll be listed at the same spot as Cole and they split time in some capacity. Who gets more snaps i'm not sure but it certainly could be Russell. I could see them splitting to start out. And if Russell is our best WR from the start, then I could see Russell at the X as a starter and thenm Merriweather and Cole opposite at the Z spitting some time.
You forgot special teams. Who kicks off, who is our punter, who returns KO's, who kicks FG's?We’ve added a lot of new players with real experience at the lower levels of college football, and I expect that to bring much more consistency this season. Overall, I think the talent and experience are improved from last year across the board, and there’s a strong group of young players who look ready to contribute in year one or year two. The true and redshirt freshmen, especially along the offensive line, defensive line, and in the defensive back room, have a real opportunity to climb the depth chart this spring, and I believe some will. I’m especially watching the position battles at OL, DL, DB, and WR, and I’m excited to see what 5-star wide receiver Calvin Russell Jr. can do. This is just my early take on the roster, and with players likely switching positions during spring ball, I’ll put together a post-spring depth chart once things start to settle:

Punter: Jimmy GreggYou forgot special teams. Who kicks off, who is our punter, who returns KO's, who kicks FG's?
Russell is tall and lanky. He has height but will take some time to get big boy strength. We all understand him playing basketball was requisite to landing him but also certainly set him back with weight room and playbook time.We have big guys like Moore, Weaver and Merriweather and of course Calvin Russell Jr who all have the size and tools to help ruj block.
He was skinny fat. He needed to cut weight, add strength AND work on cardio. Hopefully he has but it's yet to be seen.He needed to work on his body and he looks slimmer that should help.
Agree on Pringle. Though he is still young and might get better.I've seen nothing from Pringle to show ACC starter capability. Hopefully one or more others step up and he and Betrand can be buried on the depth chart.
I agree with that maybe during the summer he can work and get his body right. We all know he has the natural ball skills, length and explosiveness.Russell is tall and lanky. Was wild watching defenders run both past and through him at will. He'd be turned around and sucking wind watching QBs get crushed after only 3 steps.
Thus far has looked like a guy that got by on natural ability and never worked on his craft. USCe didn't seem to bothered to see him go.
The post the Syracuse page made on Instagram he looks slimmer and you can see the added muscle. On the 4th slide
I figured Hawn would play center but new coaches may see it differentlyAgree on Pringle. Though he is still young and might get better.
I think the best grouping for us is probably Hawn at LT, Washington at LG, Stewart at C, Cruz at RG and Mack at RT. Also like Scatcliffe a lot.
It should be an interesting spring. Lots of promising OL out there….

He played sparingly he definitely needed to lose weight though. You know what, I completely recant my statements on Pringle. I was 100% confusing him with TJ Ferguson. I don't even recall seeing Pringle play
What do you think about Jojo White? You think he could push for playing time.Agree on Pringle. Though he is still young and might get better.

I also believe Kam was dealing with a lingering injury last year and put on some bad weight. When he did play he had a hefty knee brace. Out of high school he seemed to have ideal OT athleticism and size. Hopefully now healthy he’ll live up to that promise. He played sparingly he definitely needed to lose weight though.
Probably not right away but it appears he will crack the two deep quickly. What do you think about Jojo White? You think he could push for playing time.
If Javeion Cooper was a early enrollee he would have a chance to start but yes I do like White and he could surprise a lot of people.Probably not right away but it appears he will crack the two deep quickly.
A herculean effort...thanks for putting this togetherOk thanks I was trying my best to make sure guys were on the roster and at the correct positions. Definitely should have taken more time lol I was at school and bored so I did this for 2 hours.
Of course I’m really excited for spring ballA herculean effort...thanks for putting this together
I’ve seen a lot of Cooper this past year. Freak athlete, size, speed, quickness. However, he is raw and is no where near ready to play right away. Needs a lot of strength increase. Also, most importantly to me, he is not a mature 18 yo, and lacks discipline and toughness. If he can improve in those areas he can be a 3 yr starter then on to the pros. But he won’t be ready as a true freshman. I hope we have better options in 2026-27 and don’t have to use him.If Javeion Cooper was an early enrollee he would have a chance to start but yes I do like White and he could surprise a lot of people.
Him not being an early enrollee really hurts him in my opinion. He would have been able to get his body right and learn the playbook and more it’s going to be nearly impossible for him to really play a lot as a true freshman coming in the summer.I’ve seen a lot of Cooper this past year. I honestly think most freshman need a full year in a college S & C program to be physically ready. The one's with the skillsets we covet AND the day 1 ready physicality end up 5 stars at UGA, OSU, etcHim not being an early enrollee really hurts him in my opinion. I certainly could lose some as well.He played sparingly he definitely needed to lose weight though.
Well Byron, Samuels and AD were ready last year. I think Calvin, Gough , Hughes maybe Wilson and Rodgers will be ready to contribute year one. Also Chase has a chance as well. After them I have no idea maybe Haskell but he is a summer enrollee which hurts his chances.I honestly think most freshman need a full year in a college S & C program to be physically ready. Yea Pringle had a moment where Rickie threw that pick 6 vs Miami and Pringle was just too heavy to keep up and it was very evident he needed to lose weight. Thats the only time I remember him sticking out.I certainly could lose some as well.
I recall him playing but he didn't stick out... which in the case of our oline last year is a good thing. I like our LT, LG, C possibilities but RG and RT are wiiiiide open
