You think UK would play zone against us? I highly doubt it. Either way - let teams play zone. Our defense is what is going to keep us in this tournament anyway.

Maybe. I disagree though. I felt the zone made totally depending on the 3. The second we get away from taking it to the hole, I get a bad feeling with this team. Too streaky from 3. They can also go off...but I'm saying 1 out of 6 games

I just saw the joke. OK you got me. The title says "we will 2-3 zone in every game we play." Alright yes, hardy har, this is correct. Syracuse will indeed ply 2-3 zone in every game they play. Good one.

Tempo and how we deal with a slow down, especially against teams that can rebound and hold the ball for 30 seconds before shooting will determine our fate imo.

We've been poor against zone D all year. those who can play it will play it against us.

I hated the way we offensed against it Friday night. You know how we challenge guys to make a high post jumper, well we should do the same thing. Southerland, Fair or KJ - take your pick - should have 15 shots from the follow line. I'll take my chances that we make them. If their big guy challenges the shot then dump it down low or dribble around them. The other times the guards should be dribble penetrating. None of this high ball screen crap.

wow.. well lets remember something. Cincy's zone was effective because they went haywire from three in the first half. That allowed them to use the zone to slow us down. Cincy has a couple guards with decent size - which gave them some length. UNC would not be wise to play zone.. we can both shoot over the top and would get 90 percent of our misses on the glass. In the tourney.. we may see some zone.. if CJ is healthy it wont last long.. His ability to hit the mid range jumper and draw in the D.. causes havoc.

Not saying CJ is superman every game.. just saying its rare that we struggle mightily against a zone.. We didnt struggle that much in the 2nd half against cincy.. we just made quite a few unforced errors. At least four transition buckets missed because of bad passes. We played cincy the way cincy wanted us to.. go after gates and let cincy shoot all day... twos count less than threes.. we got away from making them make the short jumpers. If Cincy is 8-11 from two instead of 3.. its a 3 point halftime deficit.. just saying. Guard the 3 ball and trust your interior D. We have done it well all year sans a couple of games.

You definitely make good points about CJ. I just question how much of the 2nd half in Cincy was just Dion going crazy vs us making sound offensive decisions.

It was Dion going crazy for sure... Scoop couldnt hang on to the ball.. nor could Kris. Brandon couldnt hit neither a trey or a FT.. Dirty was off.. Fab was slow off his feet.. an avalanche of bad. Funny how with all that.. Dion's outburst almost brought us all the way back ... I really think we will see a much more focused team. They have six games left until the off -season. Winning a title or making a FF run would boost Dion/Fab and K-Jo's draft stock to some extent.

Correct. I don't know why people are clinging to this "Cincinnati made too many threes" myth - we hit more than they did.

We lost because of our offensive ineptitude. Despite a decent pace to the first half, we couldn't even muster 30 points. Inexplicably, the team that exclusively plays 2-3 zone is baffled when it tries to run an offense against one.
