Great win-These are my only issues
1) Why the heck is Hunt in the game, much less running the ball with a 30 point lead in the 4th quarter? Imagine he gets hurt there with the game out of hand. Good chance to get Wilson (and other 2nd teamers) a little non-pressured experience.
2) Even though it turned out well-hate punting 4th and 5 at the opponents' 36 yard line. To me, the strong offensive coaches and offenses never punt it there. To me, if you want to try to establish a scoring mentality, you don't think twice at going for it that far deep in opponents' territory (at a reasonable distance)
3) Too many and ineffective bubble screens, though not as much after the 1st quarter-I think they'd be more effective if we didn't throw them as often-Sometimes less is more
4) Morgan-able to stick with the receiver, but needs to have better awareness when the ball is coming to get those hands up
The things I liked:
*O-line-Forgotten a bit in this victory-They were excellent-huge improvement from game 1
*Erv Phillips-looked dynamic. Still think he shouldn't get more than 8-10 carries at his size this year, so he doesn't wear down. Would like to see him in open space.
*Ben Lewis-Man,he's just tough. Love him on those slants.
*Eric Crume-played like he's ready to read our D-line this year
*Hunt-Played great, but as stated above, don't love his number being called that late in the game up 30. The cons greatly outweigh the pros of it
*AAM-Looked great, though mostly when the game is out of hand. Think bringing him in the 2nd half when the other team is tired is a good spot for him.
*Broyld, Estime-Got open a heckuva lot and held onto almost everything
