Nate Kingz in the portal

We discussed this in the other Nate Kingz thread. If he doesn’t enter the portal by the 22nd, he’s out of eligibility.

If his waiver gets approved next month, the only way he can continue to play is to enter the portal now.

He can still come back here

The problem is how long do a hold a spot/NIL and risk losing other targets?

Perhaps it could be that he enjoyed playing for Red, and even with the bad season, Kingz may have been satisfied with his play under Red. Essentially, life revolves around connections/personal relationships.

It definitely does, but that’s different then listening to your agent

If his waiver gets approved, Kingz will be instantly a top 25 portal prospect. Someone is getting a MAJOR pickup. I don't think he fits in the plans with Tobiason and Doty in the fold, as well as Anthony returning, so by the chance it does, I wouldn't expect him to be back.

Like him but in my opinion the fan base fondness for him is due more to effort than play. He was a good player for a bad team.

Over the last 15 games, Kingz was our best player, but prior to that he disappeared constantly. Had opportunities to take the ball to the hoop, but opted not to, and often when he got there would stop and double clutch rather than finish or get fouled. He was really a hard guy to figure out because he had great games and games he disappeared.

Also had one of the weirdest jump shots I’ve seen. Never squared up. Often shot somewhat sideways with strange rotation. Was quite quite effective despite the poor mechanics. Like most of our team last year, I should be more upset about him not being back next year, but I’m really not.
