National TV Exposure

Yeah, hopefully it will pay dividends in fitter players and less injuries.
Injuries. SOOO many injuries. Many came from undisciplined practice. Form/technique/allowing issues to go unchecked. :-(

Both football and basketball programs were national powerhouses back then. We got spoiled. Thank God for Coach Fran Brown. Man on a mission.rombrom
We are getting exposure. A replay of the game is playing on ESPN U from 5:30 to 8:30. The next game to be replayed is Arkansas v Oklahoma State.

Another Great segment on Cuse in the late ACC huddle.

"Recruits are going to want to play for Cuse."

"This guy(McCord) is playing on Sundays."

They remarked on Gadsden and Pena already being here. Imma shout out to HCDB for recruiting some good talent. I really thought the Georgia WR transfers were going to light it up. (OK. They have, too. ;-) ) LOVE that some of the guys that have always been Orange are getting their Due.

This feels Soooo much different than previous Hot starts. No gimmicks. Immaculate offensive play calling... Run Def struggles one week? Shuts down a good run team, the next. The Oline.

This feels like GOOD football..

Dino couldn't keep the cupboards stocked with players fit-for-purpose on the depthchart and it was his downfall.

He definitely got some good players here and there, but any injuries to the starters and our #2's and 3's were not P4 caliber players in many cases... and we seemed to get a lot of injuries, which is why the mid-season collapses happened,

That was the best he could do and it was not good enough and not a capable P4 operation. He did leave enough in the cupboards to not make it a complete rebuild, but we needed an elite recruiter to do a big window to get back to even (and Wildhack got the best.)

Dino's persona also got tired by the end. He viewed the team as HIS team that he needed to protect from scrutiny by the media, the fans, and the public in general. The rift between ex-players and his regime has been discussed. The closed practices. The in-game management and clock issues that he never seemed to learn from. The meaningless coachspeak and lack of accountability in the pressers. The orchestrated separation of the team from the fans got really old. You need the fans engaged with what you do and he never really got that (or it was just not important in his view.)

He was otherwise a nice guy and got a good run of years here that he wouldn't have gotten with a lot of other programs, but it was well past time.

Fran is a complete 180 - engaging fans, ex-players, stamping accountability on everything with DART, and recruiting the cupboards full with better depth.
We need McCord to stay healthy as do not have a solid backup, # 1 concern. Give DB credit we are good because of his recruits (Wax, Barron, Duece, Cinco, Jobity, Simmons, EJF, Sparrow, McDonald, Allen, Gill, Villari, OG, Hatcher, Pena, O-Line players, Kicker and punter). Give Brown credit for filling in the gaps and getting a QB, DE, WR’s and what appears to be a good recruiting class.

If Dino has a quarterback and an offensive line, he’s fine. Keep in mind they’ve played New Mexico, (usually as bad as Yukon and Massachusetts.) and FCS Northern Arizona. Plus the FCS team that beat New Mexico put up almost as many yards against New Mexico as Arizona did! It’s more about who they’ve played. New Mexico is 134 out of 134 in defense. Arizona will probably wind up with at least five losses this year. Not sure how they got into the top 25 to begin with.

week 1 he did. week 2 they put up a meager 22 pts and 331 yards as 37.5 point favourites over Northern Arizona.

I like DB, not bashing, just stating
