NBA 2018-2019

The upside to Toronto winning it will be that hopefully the NBA and the players learn that well constructed teams can win, and well constructed doesn't necessarily mean pile a bunch of all-stars on a roster with some filler and ring chasing corpses.
Aside from KD, GS is draft choices and unceremonious FA signings. They got lucky that Green turned out to be a potential HOF player. The piecing together of Iggy, Livingston, etc., is just sheer management brilliance, and Kerr is turning out to be a great coach, not just a coach with great players.
Plus, they play the most enjoyable basketball, for me, of any team, pro or college.

Like if you get the opportunity to play pick up with a team, pretty confident we’d all pick Toronto to join. Much more relatable, likable, play style seems more traditional
GS like randomly jacking nonstop 3s has bastardized everything. Vanfleet gave me a fleeting moment of “where is there an open tryout this year?” Quickly left but nonetheless how can you not root for Toronto

Golden State, at one point, had 22 straight makes that were assisted. No idea what you're getting at with the random jacking of threes. It's false.

Man, do I think you are wrong. GS runs extremely complex sets in the half court designed to get good looks. They trust ANYONE on the team to take their shots. They share the ball more than any team I can remember.
Their offense loves the 3, but that also creates great mid-range and low post chances.
Though sometimes there are "heat check" 3's, they are rarely random.

Is this true or fake news?

I’m sorry but no they don’t run “complex sets” at all

Yes they do. Their offense is constant screens and motions, ball side and weak side. It's not stagnant, iso, pound the rock, charge to the basket stuff that is so prevelant. Those back screens and passes that lead to lay ups are not by accident. They build throughout the game.

Knicks scouts apparently think he is a player comp to Paul George.

Yeah yeah. I would be more worried about this if they fell past 3. I think we're locked into Barrett though

Am I the only one who saw the rotation on the ball change when it hit Gasol's arm. Maybe I was tired.

I thought that as well from the one angle , however when seeming it together with the other two angles, it was actually greens finger tips that deflected the ball .. he essentially double tipped it

Best of luck to them with that. He’s a pretty solid player and is at least decently switchable as far as centers go but a top 10 pick just isn’t going to happen. They could probably get a first of some sort though.

Paul George once displayed the same NyQuil tendencies. But not all NyQuil’s have the same happy ending.

I agree but if Stein was in this year's draft he would definitely be a Top 10 pick no? I just don't see anyone in this draft outside of the obvious that is moving my needle. I however am no expert - I think Mutombo's nephew is one of the better prospects and he is barely 1t round in mocks.

Kawhi’s college teammates talking about Kawhi’s trashtalking. This guy is the greatest.

DJ Gay, guard: The most he talked was on the hard court, and Kawhi was not afraid to let you know that you weren’t going to score on him, that you couldn’t get past him or that he would score on you. Every time the ball went through the net, he just said, “Bucket. Bucket.” That was it.

Tyrone Shelley, guard: Most people say it like, “Oh, I’m about to get buckets on you.” He was just like, “Buckets. Layup.” Just one word.

Tim Shelton, forward: He’d be like, “You’re not scoring. You’re not doing anything.” Or he’d be like, “No, no, no.” He’d just move his feet and say, “No.”

Gay: You couldn’t score on him, so that’s what he would say: “Nope, nope, nope.” And when he would score on you: “Bucket. Bucket.”

LaBradford Franklin, guard: If he was grabbing a rebound, he’d say, “Give me that” or “Board man” or “Board man gets paid.”

Justin Hutson, assistant coach: If I heard it once, I heard it 50 times. “Board man. I’m a board man.” That’s what he said. Absolutely. “I’m a board man. Yeah, I’m a board man. Board man gets paid.” He spoke in phrases like that.

I don't see how anyone would give anything more than maybe a pair of 2s for his RFA rights. Could see the Kings being idiots and needing to renounce him to overpay someone.

Willy is also an RFA that is likely looking to get paid. I would have a hard time giving up a decent asset for him. Decent chance that Sacramento ends up renouncing him if they have a shot at a good FA and need the space cleared.

Was it here that someone mentioned how Toronto’s offense was so much more pleasing to watch and Golden State just randomly takes 3’s?

That's hilarious if someone said that; Toronto has been very iso heavy with Kawhi. Which is effective, but maybe not the most fun to watch?

I was just thinking watching game 1 or 2 (cant remember which) how much I loved watching the Warriors pass. The ball never stops moving
