NBA 2018-2019

Crazy sequence to end. And I know cousins is a hot head and can be a defensive liability on switches but unbelievable offensive talent.

It was hilarious seeing Toronto not make anything for like 20 min
GS got almost every call, please don’t debate this, ...
The collapse was inevitable

Made some coin on the Warriors tonight but man they were leaking major oil to end that game.
Toronto had numerous chances to cut that lead but nobody stepped up in the 4th to help Kawhi.

I dig the win probability graph.

That wasn’t even a foul on curry! Haha. VanVleet pushed and then fell

He had his arms wrapped around his entire upper body.

There was bad calls all over the place tonight. Not sure who got the advantage in the end. But that call was not one of them.

EDIT - I think I was talking about a different play.

I have to admit when the Raptors went up 12 in the first half, was the first time I believed the Raptors may actually have a 50/50 chance or greater to win this. And then 18-0.

This was very much like Bucks-Raptors Game 3. Kawhi was hobbled, Lowry had fouled out, and the Bucks could not take that 3-0 lead. Feels the same tonight.

In the end though, my hometown Ottawa was hit with the second tornado tonight in 8 months. This is after the second flood in 3 years ravaged parts of our city just one month ago. Ottawa is not like some areas of the states that are Tornado hotbeds. We rarely get them here.

It's only a game. Lucky that a team I am cheering for has taken me away from the reality so well... win or lose.

Fast break right before the one I think you are referring to which was the one originally called a jump.

next time i see that stupid d wade and wife commercial with that annoying ass song.."pep rally" or whatever the it says, im going to murder someone.

Reddish is trash. Yuck.

Reddish is going to shock people once he's in the league. Dude didnt care in college. he's physically the second most gifted player in the draft.

That pretty much sums it up IMO.

Toronto kicked GS's tail in the first half but got a great whistle on both ends in terms of the level of physicality they were allowed to play with on defense versus Toronto and that let them keep the deficit so manageable.

Then in the second half Toronto, or any team, just can't expect to win a game in the NBA Finals when you are that ineffective on offense for that long of a stretch.

*Edited to also add if anyone else found it hilarious how when Steph got off to a rough start it was because he was sick and low energy levels but once GS took the lead in the second half he was miraculously healed and back to posing, sprinting down the sideline to celebrate with Quinn Cook after his big 3, etc.

I for one fully enjoy that the result of every game becomes a referendum and fully deterministic data point on how the remainder of the series will play out.

Without KD, these teams are relatively even.

Last night Quinn Cook nailed three 3s and there is your difference. Game before Siakim went crazy.

I wouldn't be surprised if this goes seven.

Also, Kawhi may be the best player in the league.

The upside to Toronto winning it will be that hopefully the NBA and the players learn that well constructed teams can win, and well constructed doesn't necessarily mean pile a bunch of all-stars on a roster with some filler and ring chasing corpses.

I think Kawhi is banged up and I didn't think he was great last night. He is awesome but he needs help or this is done in 5.

You don't view him not caring about basketball at any point in his life up until now as a red flag? People have been saying he's lazy and doesn't care ever since he first popped up on the radar. Couple that with the fact that no player with his college stats has ever turned into even a modestly successful NBA player and I personally wouldn't touch him until the late 1st round at the earliest.

I'm okay with it if I end up being wrong with him; I don't want to be the team that bets on him early in the draft.

Reddish's shooting percentages have never been good. They weren't good in college and they weren't good in the EYBL. Not sure why the NBA would be different.

Because he got those INTANGIBLES YO!!!

I thought without Durant Milwaukee would have been favored against Golden State.
Golden State got lucky with the Portland matchup last round without Durant.
If they played Houston the entire series I said I think Houston would have been favored.
Durant’s ISO game won them game 1 of that series.

It's unbelievable how much attention Steph Curry gets, as he should. Van Gundy and Jackson mention it often but it's worth sharing again. So many layups or open looks are a result of defenses being so attached to him. It's almost like a hockey assist many times. Not to mention all the back screens he set last night. VanVleet has done a great job on him and it's amazing he even gets any looks during a game when you see how attached defenders are to him. All game.

Like if you get the opportunity to play pick up with a team, pretty confident we’d all pick Toronto to join. Much more relatable, likable, play style seems more traditional
GS like randomly jacking nonstop 3s has bastardized everything. Vanfleet gave me a fleeting moment of “where is there an open tryout this year?” Quickly left but nonetheless how can you not root for Toronto

I think Toronto is the best team the Warriors have played in this run (Cleveland included), but they and Golden State take about the same # of 3's per game and Toronto took 38 last night!!! On the season the Warriors took 34.4 threes a game and Toronto took 33.8. Both of them pale in comparison to Houston who took 45 a game this year.

Milwaukee was overrated. Bledsoe and Giannis inability to shoot killed them. Toronto is great.

I think Houston loses either way. They lost the lead after Durant went out in game 5 and lost game 6 without him entirely. You could argue they played them tougher with him on the court.
