NBA 2018-2019

On the flip side, I think it would be fun to see some of these past great defensive players/teams get to defend with today's rules.

A Rodman/Scottie/Jordan/Harper/Kukoc line up that could play the trapping, switch everything roaming off the ball defense as opposed to the more strict man-to-man rules could have been really dangerous and a lot of fun.

Oh hell yeah, that would've been great.

I think in some ways those Bulls were the first modern great team. the comparison doesn't work exactly; not like they were reliant on the 3 or anything, but for most of basketball history, it was all about having the great big guy, and obviously they didn't have that. the first title team in 91 also would throw on some crazy pressure defense with the Jordan/Pippen/Grant trio; no one really had the speed to keep up with that.

Call me crazy/naive, I really don't think the Knicks are gonna trade down from 3. if they trade the pick, it's for a vet player like Davis.

I agree. I think they understand Barrett is potentially huge for them.

Yeah i don't love love Barrett, but i think he's definitely (at worst) the third best guy in the draft, and I feel like there's a gap between him and Morant and the group after them

I do suppose there's an argument if you are adding some ball dominant players in free agency, then maybe you should try and surround them with more role player types, but I do think barrett has some star potential, and you don't pass on that at 3

I think the Knicks have to take Barrett at that spot. I think he'll be solid at worst. He was legit all through HS and in international games. I think Coach K did him no favors with the crew that he was put out there with (I know that sounds crazy, but he had to take on so much with limited shooters around him).

We need to land KD, one other FA and if you are saying RJ is the third or fourth option, I think that pick looks way more appealing.

Yeah, Givony and Schmitz were talking about that today on ESPN. Duke was 327th in the country in 3pt FG%! Hard to operate with that kind of spacing

I do wish he shot a little better, but it sure seemed like his playmaking improved, at least a little, as the season went on (I remember thinking/hoping in the game they played at the dome that we could collapse on him and cause problems, but he had 7 assists in that one) and he has a lot of tools. If they had the second pick I would be all over Morant, but I'm still relatively happy if they take Barrett.

Warriors still -135 to win the title. I remember thinking before game 1 how odd it was they were like -300 to win the series, but slight dogs to a pick for game 1.

It got down to -115 at some books. Of course now up to -145 at the Westgate. Wish I had jumped on it.

"I don't stand for mistakes!" Johnson shouted at her. "I don't make mistakes."

Hot take: having an infinite amount of reckless s e xual intercourse with random people in the 1980s probably constitutes a mistake, in retrospect.

Well he was likely not standing during those mistakes

They don't have enough powder to trade for Davis, IMO

Possible, I'm not saying they for sure do, just that's the scenario where I see it going down is all.
And I could see Davis trying to use leverage to get there. But I'm not predicting it or anything.

Golden State is +105 to win tonight.
That is crazy to me.
I would never give them the 5 dollar juice In their favor.

If the Raptors win tonight Golden State is in big trouble.

Siakam is a heckuva an offensive player. Scoring, setting up teammates off the bounce. Also can seemingly guard 1-5.

Fun exchange here in the fourth. Kawhi time.

Man you can’t allow a 18-0 run and expect to win the game in the finals... surprised it’s this close.

I love when the official that can't see the play AT ALL emphatically makes the call. Like, "I got this!" Uhhh, there is a player between you and the play, why you acting so confident with your jump ball call?

Raptors didn’t deserve it. Simple enough. This is a bigger loss than people will make it out to be... longer this series goes more chance of KD.

And yes I realize it’s a longer series regardless. But they needed that 2-0 IMO.
