Yeah, the game 6 aspect takes that series to another level.

But much like the Kings in 2002, the series was 2-2 and easily could’ve been 3-1 after the first 4 games. In both cases, I don’t think the Lakers were coming back from 3-1.

It wasn’t the Lakers fault the game was just completely unfairly officiated and to his credit I think Shaq was something lIke 14 for 15 from the FT which for him was insane.
Game 6 was bad though. Kings just couldn’t get a fair whistle but Webber and Peja completely choked in game 7 at home so they lost the series.

He’s been lost in the shuffle on a Denver team where there’s no real crack at minutes. Would love to see him in a place where he can play. Even better if it’s on LeBron’s team for visibility purposes. And even better if it’s on my Lakers!

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind taking a shot on MCW either. He showed late last year that he can still be a solid contributor on a good team. He can replace Rondo for much cheaper, and bring some of the same things to the table IMO.

That trade still literally makes zero sense to me for Denver. They traded for and drafted a power forward when they already had about 5 on the roster and then they’ve drafted more power forwards the last two years.

Kawhi isn't going to the Lakers. It messes up LeBron's alpha status on the team. LeBron can pass the torch to Anthony Davis the next few yers but if Kawhi goes in there he becomes the big dog.
Kawhi doesn't seem like the guy wants to deal with passive aggressive shots/leaks which would come out.

Kawhi is going to either sign a 1+

At this point I expect Kawhi to return to Toronto, but if he leaves, it's for the Clippers IMO. I don't think the allure of the Clippers is all that complicated. He supposedly wants to go home to LA. Clippers offer a pretty great base of talent and cap space to build around him and give him the ability to build a team around himself rather than just fitting in with Lebron and AD.

Could pretty easily argue that the Clippers are better positioned for the long-term than Toronto is as well.

Then again, he could do the 1+1 to run it back one more time or a 2+1 to hit 10 years and then be able to sign a much larger max.

I'm not a Laker fan and really enjoyed those teams. Same with Cedric Ceballos and Elden Campbell.

Loved both those guys. I remember at the start of the internet I was a T-Wolves fan because of KG and Marbury and there were rumors for a long time about a Jones/Campbell for Tom Gugliotta trade that I wanted to happen so bad and never did.

Yes.

Van Exel, Jones, Ceballos, Campbell, Divac. With Threatt and Peeler off the bench. George Lynch got some run as a role player. LOVED that squad. Ceballos’ garbage man game was entertaining. He had a nose for easy buckets.

Those early Shaq teams when Van Exel, Jones, and Campbell were still there with young Kobe off the bench were a ton of fun too.

I was mad as hell when we traded Van Exel for nothing because of personal issues with the coach - who we fired halfway through the next season anyway. And only slightly less mad when we traded Jones and Campbell for Rice and JR Reid.

We made our team worse, and still won 3 in a row not too long after.

Lol, I did see that. Kinda hurt me to see Nick sounding so old.

The difference between cold brew and iced coffee may blow his mind all over again at some point.

I loved Nick at Cincinnati, so when the Lakers took him I was pumped.

KG/Marbury were a lot of fun too. Marbury put up great numbers in NJ and Phoenix, but I liked his game so much more in Minnesota.

It’s already been reported that Lebron and Davis will be there. I think Stephen A just misread the LA Times report.
