I'd take him as the Knicks GM in a heartbeat.
I wonder how close we were to getting David Griffin

Cris Carter just said decision probably comes tomorrow and that nobody has an edge as of right now.
Depending on wherever Kawhi goes, what are the next moves for whoever doesn’t get him?
Raptors, are they basically just as is except they probably don’t have Kawhi or Green back? I’m not sure what their cap situation is. Masai is a beast though and will figure something out to make a move and make sure they’re in the mix come playoff time.
Clippers, Marcus Morris would be a great fit for them personality wise with Beverly, Harrell, Lou Will, SGA. Not sure who else they’d target but probably aren’t in the contender discussion without Kawhi.
Lakers, probably sign Green and go after Marcus Morris. Fill out the roster with guys like Korver, Rondo, Javale, Melo, Boogie. Sounds like Iguodala isn’t going to end up there as Memphis wants to trade him for something and not just waive him. That team can still contend but obviously less of a force than if they sign Kawhi with what’s left out there.
If the Lakers don’t get Kawhi they will spend on KCP, DeMarcus Cousins, Marcus Morris, Jabari Parker types on 1 year deals and resign RondoI suppose if the Lakers don't get Kawhi, they could possibly sign Green and maybe trade for Iggy into their cap space? I'm just not sure what exactly they can offer, so maybe not. (Though this assumes that Green doesn't follow Kawhi to Toronto, assuming he goes there)
In that case, Lakers probably sign Boogie. And then, like with Green, they may have some cap space and could possibly take back any players with contracts teams are looking to dump?
I do wonder if the Raps would try and move Lowry and/or Gasol if Kawhi and Green leave. Seems like it might be time to rebuild a little. Though I grant it's hard to do that coming off a title

That’s a good point that if Kawhi goes back to Toronto Green probably follows. Kawhi really hurt the Lakers if he ends up going elsewhere by not giving them a chance to grab any of the other options. Lakers knew that was the risk though so have to live with the result. Looks like Cousins will end up with them based on reports and I think they’ll probably land Morris.
I think you can still win a ring with say LeBron, AD, Morris, Kuzma and Rondo as your closing 5. Maybe they get a contract in their space like you mentioned. A bench of Dudley, Cousins, Daniels, then say Q. Cook, Korver, Javale, JR, saw Nick Wright say Justin Holiday, maybe some buyout shooters is good enough to not kill you at least.
Make no mistake, that's not a team built to succeed.Oh man, maybe? That seems like a pretty brutal defensive lineup. (Though this is the time when I have to remember which Morris is the better one, it's Kieff right?) I guess you really need Kuzma to take a step forward and become a borderline star type.
Broussard is also a moron though, so...That seems like it would be against the rules.

Yea they’d have a lot of problems trying to cover say a Golden State with Steph, Klay, Russell but they’d probably pound them on the glass and have a lot of matchups with their size on the other end. It would hinge on Kuzma stepping forward like you said and being able to really help space the floor and at least be OK helping to cover guards. This would be with the better Morris who was on Boston last year.
They would really struggle to stop smaller teams though and will have to rely on AD and LeBron to be superstars. Maybe they could find a decent backcourt somewhere in free agency or the trade market. Green is a pretty important signing now that I think about it some more. He could help solve a lot of issues.
I would be in favor of a "no broussard tweets" rule for this thread
Yeah I just think Lebron has taken a step or two back, if he was peak Lebron, well Lebron and AD is a hell of a start. But as it would stand now, I think they would be one or two solid rotation guys (GUARDS, though Green would help a lot, but if he goes to Toronto, that would seem not likely) short
I'm all for this.nevermind, they'll be fine
I'm all for this.
Think they could pull Reggie Miller out of retirement and the broadcaster booth?
I enjoy when he calls a game tbhPLEASE. Just get him out of the booth
