NBA 2018-2019

This should be a wake-up call for LBJ and the Lakers organization. The past is in the past.

Leonard and George grew up Lakers fans, were expected to sign with the Lakers, and now they’re across the hall. They did not want to play with LBJ. They wanted no part of the dysfunction with that front office.

These are not your father’s Clippers.

Fair enough to an extent. Lakers did get LeBron and Anthony Davis in the last 12 months though. I’d take the Lakers star duo over the Clippers duo.

Supporting cast/stability/chemistry/coaching would appear to be no comparison at this point though.

We’ll see how the Lakers gel.

Sad to see Kawhi leave. :(

And now the Lakers are unstoppable!! They have the #1 or #2 ESPN Real +/- guy at three positions by adding Danny Green. It's done. Crown them the champs. :(

Still have to re-sign Davis next year, right?

I think 3 things will prove to be true.

1, Vogel doesn't make it through the season

2, LeBron is going to take a break at some point in the season

3, there will be rumblings that Davis may not resign

I'm not going to be surprised if in all of this Westbrook eventually finds his way to the Knicks.

Bite your tongue. My son and I were facetiously talking about that this morning and how the Knicks would probably give up two #1’s, Knox, Trier and Randle or Robinson.

West is gonna be a blood bath again.

Who makes the playoffs?

Clippers, Jazz, Rockets, Nuggets, Blazers all likely to be in the playoffs again.

Lakers will snag a spot. Is Curry enough to drag a team to the playoffs on his own?

San Antonio, New Orleans, OKC, Sactown all lurking. Dallas might be a sleeper.

Outside of the Grizzlies, everybody is trying to win. T'Wolves and Suns will try at least.

Man.

Who are you hoping Lakers close out the roster with? I like the Green, KCP, Cook, Daniels signings in terms of getting floor spacing and defense for the backcourt. Obviously not star studded names but all things considered decent recovery for Lakers to salvage from the Kawhi miss. Cousins seems like he would be a nice low risk high reward signing. Bradley is a big domino if he comes on board.

I think you’d be ok with a playoff rotation right now of LeBron, AD, Kuzma, Green, KCP, Javale, Cook assuming they can add guys like Cousins, Morris, Bradley and some pieces off the waiver wire.

I mean they do still have second best odds right now to win the title behind the Clippers. A WCF of Clippers/Lakers would be a lot of fun to watch.

Lakers
I know. After my shock at the trade wore off, this was my next fear/thought.
Simmons thinks Orlando is the most likely Eastern team to do something desperate and overpay for Westbrook.

Boogie can’t guard the pick and roll.
The Lakers would have a terrible defense if they sign Boogie.
Davis would be doing all the dirty defensive work.
Toronto went all-in last year and won a title that won’t go away.
If they have to make a move now just for the fanbase don’t be surprised if they don’t look at Andruw Wiggins.

Westbrook on Orlando would be kinda cool I think.

Let’s not forget Davis already gave up $4 million for nothing.

Strange I thought the Lakers were doomed now.

I’m fine with Green and Kcp etc... Morris would be great. No idea what the plan is at pg.

I thought I saw somewhere that he may be able to claim that trade kicker still.

Is it too early to put up the V. Stiviano statue in front of Staples Center?

The reports I’m seeing say no takebacks.

And the Lakers gave up Wagner & Co. for nothing, too.
