NBA 2018-2019

Strange I thought the Lakers were doomed now.

I’m fine with Green and Kcp etc... Morris would be great. No idea what the plan is at pg.
Oh, they're doomed.

Everything rides on LeBron staying healthy and motivated.

They don't have a future outside of Davis. And everybody conveniently glosses over that for all his talent, Davis has accomplished very little.

All that front office dysfunction is still there.

Those odds are because gamblers are all hot and bothered and for the first time in a while LA Lakers fan money has something to bet on.

The West has 11 quality teams and the East has 4.
Bucks, 6ers, Celtics, Pacers?

Then a bunch of mediocre teams punching each other?

I'll say Magic, Hawks, Nets and Raptors round out the playoffs.

“Money comes and goes; your legacy is forever.” He gave up 90 million to come to LA. You honestly think his trade kicker is an issue?

Giving up the trade kicker isn’t a big deal if LeBron’s production company pays him that for Space Jam 2 but it’s money he gave up 4 million for FAs and the guys they got thus far aren’t worthy of giving it up.

Bucks and Sixers are miles better than the rest but the East is a wasteland now.

Clippers have four years to win. Great trade they had to make, but these recent deals show teams don't care about late first round picks.
In the NBA, draft picks are useless unless they are top 3

Otherwise live in free agency

Who are you hoping Lakers close out the roster with? I like the Green, KCP, Cook, Daniels signings in terms of getting floor spacing and defense for the backcourt. Obviously not star studded names but all things considered decent recovery for Lakers to salvage from the Kawhi miss. Cousins seems like he would be a nice low risk high reward signing. Bradley is a big domino if he comes on board.

I think you’d be ok with a playoff rotation right now of LeBron, AD, Kuzma, Green, KCP, Javale, Cook assuming they can add guys like Cousins, Morris, Bradley and some pieces off the waiver wire.

I mean they do still have second best odds right now to win the title behind the Clippers. A WCF of Clippers/Lakers would be a lot of fun to watch.

Agreed, I like the Cook signing a lot. They needed someone who can play PG and shoot. Daniels too.

And yeah, Cousins, Morris and Bradley would all be sensible targets.

I think on paper they look like they’ll be right in the mix. Gotta see how things develop, chemistry wise though. It’s hard to throw an almost brand new team together and win right away.

Vegas NBA futures in July aren’t dictated by fan interest or wagering.

Of course everything hinges on Lebron being healthy. And at his age, there is less certainty. But every team’s success depends on the health of their star player.

Should see if you can pick up Mario Chalmers.

But there's health.

And then there's LeBron's "health."

It will be interesting to see how things play out. The Lakers could have done better in free agency but they weren’t throwing 80mil $ contracts at Bojan or Brogdan and they weren’t prying Beverly or Lopez away. I’m glad they didn’t try to max Butler or Kemba.

Reddick or Ariza would have been nice. And I’m sure I’m forgetting someone. But I really don’t get who the Lakers missed out on going for Kawhi. Other than Kawhi of course.

Maybe they can coax Collison out of retirement. LA guy. Like to see Caruso back.

How bad is Kevin Love’s defense and should I be worried the Celtics want to trade Heyward for Love but Stevens is stoping it right now.

I think teams in LA and NY have that luxury. They know that the extra endorsement $ that comes.from those markets mean they can have any FA they want.

Unless you are the Knicks.

That deal is freaking awful if it's the one I saw. 2 1sts and Haywars for an aging Love? Nope.

No way they would include 2 firsts. The Cavs can ask for them but the Celtics should be asking for picks as Love has 4 years left and Heyward has 1 with a player option for another.

Does Clipper Darrell come back to the Clippers after defecting last summer to the Lakers?

I hear Kyle Korver, James Jones, Channing Frye, and Ray Allen’s corpse are available.
James Jones is the GM of the Phoenix Suns I can’t believe I missed that.
I thought the guy was smart as a player the Suns have been stupid this offseason.
JR Smith is a lock for the Lakers next year though.
