NBA 2018-2019

I wouldn’t be upset but apparently the Thunder offered Westbrook and George to Toronto for the same number of draft plcks and Siakam.
Uriji didn’t want to trade Siakam.

We would have been like the 3 headed Laker team... except we would have the worst player and biggest cancer of the bunch in Westbrook.

We would have to give 60 million of salaries as well to get Westbrook and George. Lowry, Powell, Ibaka or Gasol. The depth would have been an issue as well.

And this is not sour grapes with Kawhi, because he deserves to be a Toronto legend. But I can certainly seeing him constantly bringing drama to a team (as professional as he is in the court). At some point we had to say no, and move on to our plan... which I think is shifting the cap space we have from 2020 to 2021 and getting a whole bunch of draft capital in the process. Then striking in 2021 for Giannis or somebody else to add to Pascal, and having the draft capital to do much more.

I think Siakim’s career arc over the next 5 years looks better than Westbrook’s.

HAHAHAHAHA

It's pretty clear now that he was playing the Raptors and Clippers against each other to see who can land him the best piece. And i don't blame him.

In the end, the Good outweighs the bad.

The Good
- We won the title.
- The end is stinging, but the Lakers getting screwed over also erases some of that.
- We don't have to worry about being stuck with Demar Derozan long term.

My understanding is Giannis likes Milwaukee and wants to stay. Still worth pursuing if you’re the Raptors, though. Beal’s another option.

Both are well-run organizations that weren’t going to be crippled by missing out on Leonard. Unlike the Leakers, LOL.

I think Westbrook is heading to New York after free agents can be traded (December 15th I believe is the traditional date). And it won't really help them. Hope they don't give up much of their young players or picks because he is not in the same class as a George, AD.

Westbrook not a fit in Toronto. He’d want out after a year.

I was laughing at Brousard being wrong about Clippers

Presti did really well.
Alexander was a lottery pick who showed flashes.
They can try and flip Gallinari at the deadline next year on an expiring contract as a rental.
5 first round picks is unprecedented as teams can only trade 4 of their own max in a deal and he got 2 Heat first round picks and 2 first swaps.

Clippers unless Balmer is paying under the table will need to get lucky in 3-4 years.

Check out the last five first round picks of the thunder and you see that the deal may not be as good as being advertised . They did well considering they had a trade demand on their heads , but the odds of those picks having a combined career value even equal to just George is low

Vegas NBA futures in July aren’t dictated by fan interest or wagering.

Of course everything hinges on Lebron being healthy. And at his age, there is less certainty. But every team’s success depends on the health of their star player.
Fantastic signing. Cousins can be easily scapegoated.
lakers big on names ... short on winning
There’s a reason no market developed for him. Also KCP owes Lebrons foundation for multiple generations

Oh how everyone loves to hate the Lakers
The fans are okay. It’s the hubris of the organization that is annoying.
They think they are entitled to stars from other teams.
The Buss family are not their father.
All successful fanbases are full of insane fans.

Alright NOW things are starting to take shape, and I’m feeling better.

A broken clock is correct twice a day.
Whitlock nailed this one.

No argument. The hate is a compliment. I hate the Celtics fyi. Perhaps the Clippers will earn my disdain one day.

I'm happy for you, because you're feeling better, and also, I still think LeBron is accomplishing nothing.
