Fair enough. I think they have put together a very good team considering the Kawhi swing and miss.
Again, I just don’t get who people thought the Lakers would sign if they never went for Kawhi. They were never going to give out inflated 3+ yr deals for second tier free agents.

It’s a solid team, but I still think people are underselling the Warriors and Portland next year. The west is going to be ridiculous. I could see a scenario where they are a 4 or 5 seed and lose to Houston in round 1.

I get tampering in the NBA isn’t real but if Kawhi can just call Paul George after Durant said no to teaming up and can get George to try and force a trade what is the point even pretending tampering is illegal.
The NBA needs to just get rid of the rule or actually put some teeth to it.

He was a free agent. Is it any different from what Irving and Durant did? Or what LBJ, Wade, and Bosh did? Melo went to Houston because of Chris Paul.
Paul George was under OKC contract and Kawhi blatantly tampered under the rules.
I honestly don’t care that much I am just talking about the rule in general.
Kawhi is who pushed George to ask for the trade and pair up with him.

Maybe I’m not up to speed on the rules. I thought it was the teams that couldn’t tamper. Is there anything that explicitly says players can’t “conspire?”

But that team would probably be the Knicks. It’s what they do.
It’s not a big deal because the NBA doesn’t care but players under contract can’t be recruited. If they are FAs or pending FAs talking about the future it’s fine.
In this case George was under contract for 3 more years and it’s pretty freaking obvious what happened.
I don’t care but by the rules it’s tampering.

Only one starter for next year’s Clips played at a P5 school. Beverley went Arkansas. Otherwise it’s Fresno St., SDSU, Wichita St., and Croatia.
