NBA 2018-2019

Certainly in hindsight, but the thing is, Amare was coming off an all star season the year prior. It went really bad for him, but I don't think there was anyone in the world seriously considering amnestying Amare coming off a 25-8 season.

I am still really surprised they couldn't find someone to trade for Billups. And things went south for Chandler really fast. Here is a great (terrible) stat. Since the 2000-01 season, the Knicks have had an above average defense in one season. just one! And it actually wasnt the year Chandle got DPOY; it was his first year, 11-12.

Also, the Allan Houston amnesty thing is a good LOL knicks deal, but I think they made the right call? Houston retired anyway, so I believe it was essentially the same outcome? Could be wrong
I swear this is NOT hindsight, but there were solid indicators on the minutes Stat was playing/D'Antoni was throwing him out there for that there was a 100% shot his knees were not going to hold up.

I buy that, I definitely remember, especially before they got Melo, the guy was playing like 40 plus minutes every night. (And killing it, at least for a while). But I just mean, realistically, there was no way Amare was gonna be amnestied at that point. A year or two down the line, would've been in play.

Have you guys seen Amare may be making a comeback?? I always liked Amare, the guy seemed like he really wanted to make things work, it just wasn't gonna happen in NY. The guy was such a force of nature before the injuries took their toll too.

Don't call it a come back.

Carson Edwards looks like a steal in the second round.
He can shoot.

Why would the Knicks want Marcus Morris when they have already signed Randle, Portis, and Gibson?

Is this a troll? Morris also needs to make sure whatever the Knicks offer doesn’t cost him more money in state taxes to negate the 9.2 million from the Spurs which has no state income tax in TX.

Knicks 5 in lineup will be deadly.

To the Knicks, but still.

He’s a good player to have coming off the bench and can play some 3 or stretch 4.

Gee, if only he had financial professionals to guide him on issues like that.

Gee, if only clown doesn’t know players have lost money before because their agents have screwed this stuff up. Good job good effort.
See Anthony Carter.

Kawhi doing a 2+1. Will be eligible for the 10 yr vet max if he opts out after year two.

‘21 is going to be insane. Bron, Kawhi and Freak can all be free agents.

And Paul George, and Bradley Beal, and others.

Granted it's also possible that LeBron is basically done by then, some of these guys have re-signed, etc (fingers crossed that Giannis is one of them). But yeah, that free agent class looks stacked at the moment.

I actually think next year's class is really interesting; doesn't remotely have the starpower headlining it like 2019 and 2021, but there's a lot of good mid-tier players, especially restricted free agents. Guys ranging from Jerami Grant to Pascal Siakam; it's going to be fascinating to see how that middle market ends up getting paid.

That's dishonest people, not income tax advice. How does understanding income tax implications prevent people from stealing from you?
A good agent will have a good economist/accountant on staff or retainer to run all the numbers: cost of living, school tax, town and county tax, gas tax, etc.

Most of the signings the Knicks made were more meh than anything else, but the Bobby Portis one just boggles the mind.

Clippers better win in the next 2 years or the Thunder trade could set them back. Kawhi signing a 2+1 and George only having 2 years left they are on the clock.

Just like the Lakers-Pelicans trade but LeBron isn’t going anywhere.

I trust in the front office. They turned Paul and Griffin into an entire starting lineup and the first four guys off the bench. Ballmer won’t hesitate to give both of them max deals. Things would have to go very wrong for them to leave. It’s where they want to be.

Ballmer has to hope he will not get nailed for the more than likely illegal payments he is funnelling to Uncle Dennis. What will he do when Uncle Dennis has a whole new set of demands in 2 years?

If things go wrong, the implications could be for a long time.

Pascal Siakam is not going to leave as a Restricted Free Agent. Raptors match anything.
