I wish they'd reconsider and let Melo get one more USA run with the young bucks...
His game/scoring is made for international play.

Is Melo even interested? Pretty sure he said in 2016 that it would be his last one.

My 2020 eastern conference “sleeper”: Detroit Pistons.

Obviously all hinging on Blake’s health. But he’s the most ignored superstar(due to health, mainly). Guy is borderline top 10.

Hate to say it because he’s from Duke, but I think Luke Kennard is very good(for this version of the NBA), and is due a breakout season. I think Tony Snell has quietly come into his own and with a starting spot will be solid.

Derrick Rose gives them a guy who can carry the second unit.

The long term upside isn’t there and I’m asking a lot of Rose/Griffin’s health: which seems crazy, but I think they’ll be a solid playoff team this year. Like 46-36 and win a series type team.

Sleeper in terms of what exactly? I think a healthy Blake makes them pretty much a lock to make the playoffs but they have no chance at doing anything significant in the playoffs IMO.

I guess I think them being a solid playoff team does make them a “sleeper” to a degree. I mean, they’ve made the playoffs twice this entire decade - both times as an 8 seed, both teams being swept in round 1.

I think they can be much better than that. Especially in this East. They didn’t make any splash moves, and nobody talks or cares about them(with good reason after their last 10 years).

I think this is the year they put out a solid team and make a little noise.

*Unless Blake gets hurt, in which case they’re going 30-52, lol.

Yeah, I don't think any of that is unrealistic. No doubt it all depends on Blake staying healthy; he's still one of the best players in the league when he is.
