NBA playoffs: greatest show on Earth

KLove is good in the right series (like Tor), plus his hand was really messed up.

George Hill has been legit, as well.

Otherwise, I'm with you. I think Bron can handle Boston just because of the C's youth, but if they have to face GSW, I don't know how they win more than one game unless Korver goes insane from three or something like that.

Yeah Love has been better the last few games. He's a very good player.

But when you think about it, it's kind of crazy how few 2 way players they have, right? Most of the guys they have are good on one side of the ball (and it's almost always offense)

For sure.

I mean, Nance is getting DNP-CDs now. It's Bron and whatever guys he picks for his pickup team at the gym.

It's also kind of hard to believe what they got out of trading Kyrie irving, who for all his faults on the defensive end, is a very good player. They've basically ended up with Hill, Clarkson, Nance, and Hood? If you look at minutes played in the playoffs, those guys are 6-9 in most m inutes played for Cleveland. George Hill is the only guy playing over 20 MPG from that group. The unprotected pick from the Nets was the real prize, I get that, but they traded their second (?) best player off their roster and all they have right now is 4 role players.

So where does LeBron go during his time off before next round?

LA? Miami? Germany?

Poor Toronto. Someone made a funny post (can't find it at the moment), but said something like, "Toronto should have the border patrol not let LeBron into the country if they play next year. Just not let him in."

I am a Raptor Fan. This was embarassing. Year after year. Even the Vegas Sharps believed us in big this year.

Not sure who was the worst #1 seed Toronto or Virginia.

This is a devastating loss for your franchise its prob time to break up that group. But there is no comparison tor lost to lebron. Uva got punked by umbc.

Toronto got swept in the conference semis by the best player in the game.

Virginia got blown out by UMBC in the first round.

I'm not really sure much is accomplished by breaking up the team this year, although I can be easily convinced on moving Demar if we can find another volume scorer. Fire the coach and hope the breaks come next year. By 2019/2020 they are all expiring and could probably be more easily moved (Kyle/Demar/Ibakan)

New map of Canada.

Series was done after Raptors melted down in game 1. Series result isn't shocking. I expected Raptors to lose but not until game 6 or 7.

Can't wait for GS to ruin Cleveland again though.

The thing is they probably won't get much at all for Lowry if they try to trade him. Masai would basically be signing his own pink slip if he breaks the team up. He'll be fired before he has a chance to build the roster back up again. Their best hope might be to just stay patient and pray Lebron heads out West.

I'm guessing Dwane Casey gets fired and maybe they dump Valanciunas and just hope that those two moves spark something.

Which once again proves he's a great player, but terrible GM.

In retrospect, that Kyrie trade is just a disaster if Brooklyn doesn't end up moving up in the lottery.

Cleveland could have gotten Middleton, Brogdon, and a 1st round pick from Milwaukee.

Middleton alone in the playoffs: 25/5/3 on 72% TS%

All the players Cleveland got for Kyrie combined: 14/7/3 on 47% TS%

And even if he does, Philly and Boston look like monsters for the next few years. Very tough spot for Toronto

Weirdly enough I could see lowry with the Cavs or 6ers

Why fire the coach? That team completely overachieved this season, then LeBron happened and his players punked out. Not sure what Casey could’ve done differently.

Yeah not a chance you fire Casey unless you're a complete moron.

The changes they made this season that led to their regular season success have been attributed to one of their assistant coaches, who would be a potential candidate for the head coaching job. Casey's struggles with in-game adjustments and rotations are pretty well-known at this point.

The bigger reason to fire the coach is this though: it's simply the easy way out for a GM that likely is feeling extreme pressure to make a change but doesn't want to blow the team up and get himself fired in the process. If Masai tries to trade Lowry or DeRozan, it'll almost certainly selling them for cents on the dollar, in which case their decline will be used as justification to fire Masai himself.

I’d trade Derozan. He doesn’t fit today’s league.

Sure, but trade him for what exactly? If I were the GM and thought I had job security, I'd try to trade both him and Lowry, but they'd probably be getting pretty poor returns for either one.

You underestimate the stupidity of NBA GM's.

I'm sure Magic(Lebron) could be enticed if he signs with the Lakers...;)

I'm not sure any all-star caliber player fits worse next to LeBron than DeRozan to be honest. Maybe they could swap DeRozan for Wiggins or something, but Wiggins is basically just a younger worse version of DeRozan.
