NBA playoffs: greatest show on Earth

He's 28 if you believe he was actually 20 when he first came over, but there's always been rumors about that not being the case.

  1. Yeah I was thinking about that as soon as I hit send. It does make a lot more sense, at least. Kinda like with Albert Pujols.

Hot take: Serge Ibaka is the most washed up formerly good player under the age of 30 since Josh Howard.
it is shocking how rapidly he decayed

houston

I don't see Houston as a realistic choice to be honest. If anyone can make it happen, it's a guy like Morey, but he'll have to move heaven and earth to make it even a possibility (assuming that it requires CP3 and Harden to both remain in Houston too).

Sure, but trade him for what exactly? If I were the GM and thought I had job security, I'd try to trade both him and Lowry, but they'd probably be getting pretty poor returns for either one.
you never know in this league . . . there are so many team caught in nba no man's land - too good to get a high lottery pick, not good enough to get to a conference finals. desperate teams make desperate moves - that's how blake griffin ended up in detroit.

all these teams can rearrange each others pieces to see if they can find some new combination that works: toronto, portland, washington, detroit, charlotte, etc.

Some nerd (he said lovingly) did a massive post on how Houston could get Lebron. cant find it now

I didnt remember it exactly, but basically outlined the mechanics

I wouldn't retool. Just hope, even if unlikely, that the coaching change solves the problem.

tl;dr

Coles Notes
1) Can't create space to sign him.
2) Capella is hard to trade due to BYC clause
3) Pu Pu Platter makes it hard to do a sign and trade (or opt in and trade).

Don't forget the guard version -- Ty Lawson. That guy went from good, near all star level player, to useless very quickly.

Very true, though it seems he has or had a problem with alcohol which I bet was a factor.

Howard reportedly may have loved weed a little too much.

I have no idea what Ibaka’s deal is.

It's possible Ibaka was always a garbage man. His production never increased when Durant or Westbrook were out.

He might have been a good numbers on a good team guy, but not actually all that good.

I’m talking more about his defense. He used to be elite. Now he seems like he’s just another guy. Ok, but nothing special.

Well, that whole Chris Paul can’t make it past the second round thing is dead. What a performance.

Scott Foster has only refereed 3 games in the month of May.

HOU vs UTA (UTA only win in series Scott Foster was lead Ref on 5/2). Houston up 1-0 before.

GSW vs NOP (NOP only win this series Scott Foster was lead Ref on 5/4) Golden State up 2-0 before.

BOS vs PHI (PHI only win this series thus far Scott Foster was lead Ref on 5/7) Boston up 3-0 before.

The league doesn’t even try to hide it. If Foster does a game the team that needs the win more will get it.

As much as I hate Houston, as I have said before, I think they are the best team in the league this year. I would be totally shocked if they get beat.

The Warriors will beat them in 6.

I like Houston’s team but they just remind of the early 2000s Sacramento Kings teams to the Golden State as the Lakers.

This could be that 2002 type series where a Scott Foster could throw a game towards the team losing to get it to 7 games and then Harden pulls a C-Webb in game 7 against the 02 Lakers.

I just don't think Houston's iso ball will be able to outscore GSW if GSW is fully healthy. Will be interesting to see if Kerr comes out with the Hampton 5 lineup right out of the gate with Capela starting for Houston.

If GSW starts the Hampton 5, Houston has to put Harden on Draymond when GSW is on offense, right?

That would be a nightmare for Harden on the glass
