NBA Thread 2020-21 Season

Norman Powell, Pascal Siakim, and 2 first round picks for Harden would work.

Spoken like a true Celtic fan.
You realize Siakim is young and was an all-NBA player last year right?
Powell is a contract and the picks to just give them some currency.

What do you think the Rockets are going to get for Harden?

How are the strip clubs in Toronto?

And depending on how that is answered, does that make Harden in Toronto a better or worse idea?

Hopefully their is enough takeout to meet Harden's needs as well. Looks like he is trying to become the Zion of pt guards... minus the muscle.

I think Toronto is going to explore Siakam for Harden.

A friend of mine sent me a tweet saying that a supposedly trustworthy source was saying Siakam + and Jaylen Brown + were on the table.

I won’t be surprised at all if Toronto does get involved. A little more surprising if Boston does.

Boston and Harden aren’t happening.

It’s not a fit.

The value is agreeable with me...maybe can keep it to 1 pick.

But here is the problem.
- At the 3/4 the Raptors only have Anunoby / Siakam. And with the C position a little week, the Raps will probably use Anunoby / Siakam at the 4/5 a number of times.
- They have no depth at the 3/4, so if Siakam goes there is no logical replacement.
- Where the Raptors have a tonne of depth is at the guard position, where they have 5 players that are at or close to rotation level.
- So with this trade they still have tonnes of guards, but they have a bigger hole where the depth was already questionable.

If they do trade for Harden, I think the Raptors need to have a second basketball trade lined up to get a 3/4 type player to replace Siakam. Otherwise their Roster balance would be a total mess.

Almost forgot about Kuzma. A teammate (LeBron) tweeted recently that he’s looking for a breakout year from Kuz. He’s had his moments, looking forward to seeing more consistency.

Smart signing for both sides. Maybe he gets a little more as a RFA. But he’s locked in 40 mil for himself and that’s nothing to sneeze at. Trade rumors will never cease but he’s got his financial security.

The strip clubs in Toronto especially in the suburbs are quite open minded. But locals apparently don’t go much because Toronto has many more “liberal” forms of entertainment.

that being said, from what I have long read, Toronto is a favourite stop amongst NBA players during the season not for the strip clubs but because it has a notorious party organizer that throws exclusive gatherings and apparently relies on some of Toronto’s other forms of night time entertainment t. The Sunday afternoon games at 1:00 used to be a nice advantage for the Raptors

It’s a pretty easy penalty but everyone does this chit.

I can't help but laugh. Not like the 50-60th pick a couple years from now is a big price to pay, but the deal literally fell apart because Atlanta illegally tampered with Bogdanovic too and they got the player and also didn't get punished. It wasn't even a secret that they tampered either; Windhorst discussed it on his podcast before Atlanta was legally allowed to negotiate with him.

It’s laughable because Magic legit tampered on night time talk shows and the Lakers got heavily fined. I love Magic as well but he got no picks lost.

Yeah, I mean, it's pretty obvious that literally every team tampers at this point. NBA just decided to punish Milwaukee because Woj reported it as a done deal when it wasn't.

Woj is the one that should be punished imo.

Seems like the Bogdanovic tampering was just a step too far?

Of course you could turn it around (I guess?) and say it wasn't as bad because the Kings had to agree as well to make the sign and trade happen?

I dunno. Obviously everyone tampers

Yeah I thought the Lakers got a steal on Kuzma's contract.
It’s even worse Kuzma has to deal with CA income taxes and Fultz has no income tax in FL.
Kuzma can shoot. Fultz hasn’t shown he can yet.

Players will take discounts to play for the championship winning LA Lakers.

*I wish more people hated the Lakers more than the Clippers in here these days so I could really lean into this obnoxious champion gimmick.
Comparing the Kuzma contract and the laughable contract the Clippers gave Luke Kennard your right.

I don't think it was a steal based on his play so far in his career but I think there's a decent chance he improves and it becomes a steal (though by then, he'll likely opt out and cash in).

I love Fultz and am rooting for him to succeed but that's a lot of money for him.

Jonathan Isaac getting 4/$80 mil too. Orlando really needs to find some worthy players to spend their money on lol

Way I look at it, it's almost impossible to overpay on a guy's contract after his rookie deal, if he's shown anything to that point. You're getting years when the player is still on the rise.

Kuzma way outplayed his draft slot, so he also outplayed his rookie contract by a mile. I think odds are good production wise he'll be a lot more valuable than the $13M a year or so he's paid.

3rd largest contract ever. I remember when he signed his current 100 million contract and people questioned it. The Jazz are locked down the next three years. Great job by Dennis Lindsey. Great letter to Utah by Rudy. You deserve it.

I hope somebody pulls a Lambier on this Corona patient zero.
