NBA Thread 2021-22 Season

Just can’t stop thinking about how badly the Celtics beat themselves last night with so many terrible passes. Tatum can get so weak with his passes and Smart tries to force way too many long passes assuming Brown will go up and get the ball. Arrrgggghhhhhh!!!!
And what's the downside?

Celtics hater since 1958.

Teams are really skeptical about whether or not Wood is a winning player and he’s been a journeyman to this point in his career. He simply isn’t valued very much right now but a worthy gamble for Dallas given how little they gave up.

the knock on wood has always been he’s a me first guy, bad locker room guy. great talent when engaged but that‘s not every night. Won’t he be like porzingis on Mavs?

I find it strange the NBA allows trades for teams after their season is complete even thought basketball is still being played. I know Boston and Golden State are in the finals because they are the best teams, but it would seem this puts those teams behind when getting their offseason started.

Very possible though he does at least move better than Porzingis at this point.

Also a big difference between what they gave up for Wood vs. what they gave up for Porzingis. It’s a fine buy-low gamble but the media’s reaction kinda reminds me of when the Knicks traded for Reddish and everyone lost their minds about how big of a steal it was for them.

It’s pretty crazy, but at the same time, the draft is literally next week lol. Teams need to be able to make moves in advance of the draft!

I mean Wood is a solid NBA player and can shoot for sure. He will be a nice piece for Dallas as long as he gets along with Luka. There is a reason why NOLA didn't keep him around after being pretty damn good and has now been traded twice in 3-4 years

It's a little odd, I remember Arod opting out during the WS was a really big deal; MLB wasn't a fan of him announcing during the WS.

I love how compressed the NBA off-season is. The NFL has like 2.5 months between the Super bowl and the draft, NBA is a few days. And all the FA stuff happens in about a week. Compare that to MLB, which takes forever.

And to be fair, the teams in the finals probably could be negotiating deals now (and lets be honest, they probably are). i doubt Bob Myers is that in the weeds on the game planning for this series, thats the coaching staff.

Boston wins tonight, right?

Gave a like, but I actually think the Dubs close it out.

Tatum and Jaylen have been too inconsistent to cover the issues with their bench.

And I don't think Steph has two bad games in a row.

With that said, I wouldn't bet money on it. Boston is a very good team. I actually think these teams are pretty evenly matched. I like them both, but just think Dubs get it tonight.

I'm shocked Scott Foster aka the extender won't be the building tonight

NBA Finals referee assignments: Zach Zarba to lead officiating crew in Game 6 of Warriors vs. Celtics. The NBA has announced its officiating crew for Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals. Led by chief Zach Zarba, the three-person crew also features veteran NBA officials, David Guthrie and John Goble.

I’d have to check the stats, but the Warriors seem to have a great record whenever Foster does their games. Pretty sure they’ve won every game he’s officiated in the playoffs.

I want to see how the refs are going to handle Draymond, early.

I think the Dubs are going to win this one behind a big Steph game (or maybe Game 6 Klay makes an appearance), but I think the amount of BS they'll deal with from Draymond will impact the game.

Oh yippee, they're actually playing again tonight.

It's pretty special how the NBA playoffs are as long as the regular season.
I thought it used to be done just for tv purposes, but this is the most time off between games ever.
Think it helps the older and injured guys anyway.

I think there is a full day off after the travel day
