NBA Thread 2021-22 Season

I think probably Golden State and Boston both win in 5 or 6 games
Yes. I think this round will still have some great games but won't be as exciting as the first round. GS, Boston, Miami and Phoenix advance which will set up two great semifinal matchups.

Always enjoyed the rivalry with them - the Lakers always getting the best of them in the playoffs may have helped. But they usually played entertaining ball, had loud fans, great uniforms, and a quality franchise that usually put out good teams. They’re definitely missed.
Was looking back at some of their teams that decade and their best team was probably 93-94 which blew a 2-0 lead as a one seed against the Nuggets and lost. Kemp was completely shut down that series mainly due to Mutombo averaging 6 blocks per game. One of the first huge playoff flops by a George Karl coached team.

Incredibly Utah got out to a 3-0 lead in the semis and Denver was able to force a game 7. Can’t imagine how those results would be covered in the era of social media.

Motombo was AMAZING that playoffs. The Sonics stopped even trying to go into the paint.

I know Dikembe is a Georgetown guy but as an NBA player he is one of my all time favorites. Those Denver teams were so much fun. They never broke through but man they had some talent and style.

That team never really had a chance to get off the ground due to controversy and injury.

The Nuggets traded Chris Jackson aka Mahmoud Abdul Rauf after he converted to Islam and refused to stand for the anthem and eventually unloaded Mutumbo to Atlanta. Laphonso Ellis also blew out his knee a week into the following season and was never the same.

Rauf was blackballed to Europe shortly after the trade. If he played in this era I have zero doubt he would have been a cornerstone of some NBA team.

Rauf, Price, Van Exel - a few guys who I think would be superstars in the modern NBA. If they were allowed to shoot 12 3’s a game, and basically everything runs off of them? With no hand checking, no dumping it into the post almost every possession, and all that space to operate with?

People really just kinda talked the “GOAT” debate into only being Jordan vs. LeBron didn’t they?

SMH. I reject their hypothesis. Magic and Kareem will forever be in the conversation.

Grayson Allen still has the most punchable face of anyone who’s ever stepped foot on a basketball court. I wish someone would Oakley him.
Looks like his old man.

Also, the Celtics defense - supposedly a strength - has been pretty crappy so far in the post-season

This series has already gone better than I expected. Never in a million years would I have expected the Bucks to win this game 1, and Giannis didn’t even play well for the most part.

There were bodies flying everywhere all game, missed calls left and right, soft calls left and right. Just a lot going on in that one. I imagine the fans of both teams feel like they were playing against the refs.

Honestly, I’m not sure how Bucks fans could have complained about the refs today

We don't need to get into it lol. Complaining about the refs is boring to me. But I can assure you the Bucks forum was losing their collective minds throughout the game. Both teams play insanely physical and naturally, the refs don't call all of it.

The difference in the officiating in these two games is incredible. This crew is calling everything.

College officials are better than this. That’s not a flagrant two.
