NBA Thread 2021-22 Season

That was a dime and old man Conley couldn’t get to it. Damn
Prime Mike Conley in Memphis was one of my favorite PGs to watch and root for. Always loved his game. Hoping he comes through for the Jazz.

Meanwhile, across the lake from Chez FBJ…..

My personal world's most hated list as of April 28, 2022.

#1. Putin

And then far, far, far down but still #2 - Joel Embiid.
A flopper, a complainer, and a dirty player. What's not to like?

That's a rough mistake for a vet like Conley to make with seconds to go and the ball to win.

Really? A sports figure makes your most dislikes listed?

It's called hyperbole.

Which is also why I stated as of April 28, 2022, immediately after we loss and he was an ass the whole series. He had me fuming me pretty good.

Sorry that does not meet your standards Captain Self Righteous.

Willie and Monty are two of the more likable coaches in the league IMO.

Listened to a podcast this morning, basically said that Darvin Ham, in MKE, is in the same spot Willie was last year and should get his shot soon.

Willie and Monty are both very good coaches and seemingly very good people.

If I remember correctly, I believe CP3 tends to punch down (both literally and figuratively) with his stuff.
For hurting others its usually punching down. For flopping nobody is safe

idk, he tried to injure Giannis in the finals last year but I’m sure he would just say he was doing what he could to win.

Both very good coaches but most importantly held in a very high regard by today's NBA player. Ingram has sung WIllie's praises from day one as Zion did today in his exit interview. Solid top 8 draft pick and a healthy Zion and this team could be damn good next year. Willie has built a great culture in 1 season. The 3 rookies and Willie Green have saved Grif's bacon

It didn't look that serious when it happened, but obviously it was. Just looked like another play where somebody gets clipped in the head on a play that happens fairly frequently. He was shook up a bit but at that moment did not appear that it would be anything that would cause a problem for the next game.

He was doing the airplane down the court, mocking the crowd, after scoring a basket to put them up 29 with 4 minutes left in the game. About 10 seconds after doing the airplane, he got caught by an inadvertent elbow on a drive by Siakam. If sports karma was such a thing (I don't believe it is) that would be the textbook definition of it. Let's not even mention the various cheap shots and dangerous play he had done in the series, including one late in the 3rd quarter on Boucher. But despite the comments above in no way am I cheering or glad that he is out due to injury.

I think the bigger question is why Doc Rivers had him on the floor, when Philly was up by about 30 with 4 minutes to go. Another playoff screwup by Doc.

Cause doc rivers is an idiot ..

Superstars getting hurt in the playoffs is the worst thing about sports.

And yeah, he shouldn’t have been in the game.

I’ve coached high school and had the “alright, I’ve seen what I need to with this scrimmage, I’m going to blow the whistle and move on….wait, one more possesion, I just want to see…..damnit, best player just randomly rolled his ankle.”

Sports can be stupid like that.

I’m so sick of seeing these guys’ dads on TV. Who friggin cares? Go sit down.
