NC ST Opens A 4.5 Point Favorite

If the OL and offense aren't coached this week to get the ball out quick and are prepared for the best DL we will have faced all season this week I will be scared to touch this line. NC State doesn't have much of a passing game, but their running game is solid and Doeren is a decent coach. We can beat this team if its a low scoring game in the 20s, but I want to see our team better prepared this week.

I'm not worried about our run defense or a strong DL. Our weakness is our secondary and our receivers. Running teams will find it difficult to score points.

Agree STO 100%, I think we are toast. The bottomline is this team just isn't very good, talent, coaching etc. I think we have a shot to win 5 no more than that. Cant see us beating Nc ST, Ga Tech or Maryland. I say we win 2 of 3 versus Wake, NC and or Pitt, Pitt actually looks good this year. 4 wins.

It's not the fans that need to worry about their loser mentality. Like I said, I hope I am wrong. I actually though we might compete a bit on Saturday having two weeks to prepare. The first TD by Clemson was truly disheartening
At least you're consistent with your "rosy" outlooks.

I wasn't talking our DL the NC State DL is the best DL we will have faced this year and they will pressure Hunt. If the coaching staff doesn't have the OL and QB ready for their good DL men I will be ticked and we will get housed. NC State's offense will be run heavy if their starting QB remains out, and that will help our defense.

Right. I may have worded that poorly.

I'll take a run heavy team vs our run defense all day.

I'm not all that worried about pressure on Hunt. The guy runs pretty well and has good pocket presence. The O-line is okay. A strong running game can make a pass rush ineffective.

What worries me is our WR's.

Coupled with the fact that this team is struggling mightly against FBS competition, NC State is a tough place to play. I sure hope we win, or our bowl hopes are likely down the drain.

We have played three BCS opponents and are 0-3 with two blow outs and a loss to what now appears to be a very mediocre PSU. Our secondary has been so bad I just dont have much optimism. I was hoping the NW game was just a bad day but Saturday showed me different, I hope Im wrong but I now think 4-8 is what were looking at

Did you see NW verses tOSU? If ever a team should move up after a loss it would be them.

But honestly, this schedule was so bizarre to this point and with a QB switch I really have no idea what to expect this Saturday.

Anyone else feel like NC State is Penn State part 2? Redemtion time I hope.

Get the ball out quick?

You can't get the ball out quick to a 160 lb WR who has a 5 star corner who is 6 ft 190 lbs and strong as hell draped all over him, or a 6 ft 180 WR who has no moves or hands and can't get off a jam against the same body type as mentioned above. Or a 6 ft 200 lb WR with no speed who doesn't seem to want to compete.

If your blaming hunt for the passing wows, I think you're wrong.

I hope you are right, but I think NCST is greater than PSU. Plus we are playing a true road game. PSU was a neutral field.

I thought so too but NC State's qb likes to chuck it to the other team so could be interesting. Suppose that depends on whom we have to suit up at CB on Saturday.

You do realize that 1 team is #3, one team is ranked inside the top 20 at #19, and PSU when we played them was just outside the top 25.

I am not sure that any team in the BCS has played a tougher schedule. If one has please show me.

NCST just lost by 15 to one of the worst offenses in the AQ conferences. They love their current QB so much they might play a kid that has been in a boot for the last month and has a handful of game snaps.
