How could others score when JJ didn't pass? He had ZERO assists. At least he got us 17 points, which is more than 3 of the other starters combined, or the entire bench combined.
We would have lost by more, and been behind by 20 a lot sooner without JJ at least trying to score.
I used to feel bad for Red until he refused to hire another assistant coach this past summer. This after the seemingly useless Engelstad hiring. I also think he didn't do anything to improve himself as a head coach in these three years. He has consistently blown off suggestions that there might need to be a more defined offensive plan. At the very least, he could have worked with someone on his public speaking. For about three weeks, I thought that he had figured out the importance of defense. And we are seeing how long that lasted. Regardless of what led to his hiring, he has not risen to the challenge. This isnt Autry's fault. He wasn't ready for the job and the powers that be should have been adults and known that. All of this was obvious last year.
I just hope the next coach preaches fundamentals. Our team cant dribble, pass, shoot, or play defense. Its real bad.
I’m certain that he’s playing hoops because that was one of his demands to sign with SU.Why not in basketball?
Does anyone know how he learned about hockey line changes? What big time coach does that? I wish there was more logic.I used to feel bad for Red until he refused to hire another assistant coach this past summer. This after the seemingly useless Engelstad hiring. Hoisting three straight 3's is poor basketball IQ.

If he passes the ball, but the guy misses the shot, does he get an assist? How could others score when JJ didn't pass? He had ZERO assists.
Well said. It seems like he never tried to improve anything and just assumed doing the same stuff with better players would magically produce better results. Alas, not the case.I used to feel bad for Red until he refused to hire another assistant coach this past summer. This after the seemingly useless Engelstad hiring. You watched the game, right? You saw the greedy and selfish play of the two starting guards. How exactly are the other players supposed to score when THEY NEVER SEE THE BALL?Yes, that stretch was really bad, That's where the game got away.
But who else was scoring other than Donnie? Nobody.
I totally agree with you but I just don't get it. How can someone work so hard to be a DI basketball player, spend hours and hours working out and practicing and then play half heartedly in front of thousands of people?I expect the team to mail it in for the last 10 games.
If I hadn’t seen you posting here for so long, a comment like this would make me think you were an Autry burner account.
Edit:
My apologies, I meant to quote this post of yours:

I think I might agreeClearly we have no offense, so it’s impossible to do anything, but Nait George has been without a doubt our worst starter this season
Cole Certa for ND has 34 tonight on 17.JJ Starling took NINETEEN shots tonight, guys. Let’s all luxuriate in how glorious that is.
Pssssht, Cole Certa. Like that’s a real human name.Cole Certa for ND has 34 tonight on 17.
Ummm. He’s played like that for most of the season. Not a big deal, this was Quadir's Super Bowl.
