NCAA 2nd Round Games for March 20

Looks like the Big Ten is about to go 0-4.

You're right.

thats a shame.gif

I don't get the constant anti-Duke, anti-Coach K animosity here. He has been a true friend of JB, honoring him as his top assistant on three US Olympic teams and always supporting him during such things as the Bernie Fine fiasco and the NCAA's outrageous action in 2015. We need the ACC to do well in the tournament ... not just for the prestige, but also for the very significant money we earn from each win by a conference member.
Respectfully, I have to disagree. Btw it's more than just the coach. Just because he is good friends with JB that is nowhere near enough to offset the many reasons to dislike him and his program. He is one of the poorest losers out there. Quick with the blow by handshake after a loss yet mr magnanimous after a win. At least be consistent like JB, he does the blow by win or lose. :)

Years of watching Laettner, Wojo, Grayson Allen, Bobby Hurley, to name just a few, it is easy to root against Dook. Is there any fan base easier to dislike than Dook fans?

I remember you had the same view as to why SU fans should root for UConn in the NCAAT back when we were both in the BE. It's really hard to turn around and root for bitter rivals just because they're in your conference. And their success just makes them stronger, does nothing for SU. I've never bought that conference money argument. We get plenty of action from just being in the ACC. An extra few dollars coming our way from conference success isn't going to move the needle for our program. We have the largest on campus facility in the country. Put a better product out there and that will more than bring in enough money so that we're not reliant on conference success in the NCAAT.

i've hated K long before we ever joined the ACC. you think moving into conference changes anything ?

Honestly, if Purdue can't get to the Final Four this year with both the 1 and 2 seeds bounced from their bracket, I don't know when it will ever happen for them. It will never be easier.
They'll find a way to choke.

Everyone hates them - because they're evil!

The most iconic images of the program are some child crying after a tourney loss, and Christian Laettner stomping on an opposing player. We have Warrick's block, and Pear's half court shot!

Everyone hates the frat kids in 'Revenge of the Nerds' - but you didn't really need the nerds to let you know you should hate them. You hate them because they should be hated! That's Duke. The evil frat that everyone rightfully hates.

Elton Brand even said those yuppie twats excluded him from college life. They're the epitome of spoiled white awfulness - and Coach K's awful AmEx ads still annoy me. I'm the leader of men, not a basketball coach - now go rack up some credit card debt, kids! Yuck. Or lying about Dillon Brooks - who lies about scolding Canadians? What sort of evil is that?

They've had players win defense player of the year awards based upon how often they slap the floor! Insanity! They trip people for sport! Mean! It's the grotesque whiteness of it all - but he will pay for other colors when needed.

The list is endless!

Just joking! :)

K went from a guy who wouldn't hang a banner if the senior class didn't graduate to this one and done more machine than man type. Which frankly hasn't made them any better than they would've been otherwise. No other ACC fanbase pulls for them either.

Oh, and flopping...

Wasn't he once the guy who wins games in March because of tough early schedules?
That’s what they say. But guy has been to 1 FF in like 12 years and multiple early flameouts these past few years.

He's a disingenuous whiner. Gracious in victory, but an absolute a$$wipe in defeat.

You (not you personally, but all the Duke haters here) have no idea regarding the financial realities of big-time college sports. The major reason why schools switch conferences is because of the money. Syracuse seriously depends on the ACC's NCAA basketball shares to help support its athletic program. All you guys who want to hire big time basketball coaches and big time football coaches, you ignore how much such coaches cost. And then you deprecate a major potential source of funding. I don't get it. Every tourney win by an ACC member helps us.

Given the level of recruits and talent that Coach K has got since their last title, we should be upset with him not earning us more money. No final fours for Duke since 2015 - he should have earned Syracuse more money.

Thankfully teams like Virginia, Syracuse, UNC have made the final four since the last time Duke has.
