NCAA Final Four Games for Sat April 5

Dook's D was better than Houston's for 3/4s of the game but Houston wore them down. Houston was relentless during the last 10 minutes. Conditioning matters.
I thought dook moved the ball better for most of the game while Houston had more players who liked to dribble instead of pass. I'd like to see a stat for dribbling time per possession, we would probably be near the top for that stat.

I feel terrible about Duke’s loss. This was not a team to hate. And I was so happy for Maliq being able to be on a championship team. Cooper Flagg may come back. Melo always felt sad about having to leave Syracuse. You’ll never have more pleasure playing basketball than at college.

Duke sharting themselves is great. They bankrolled, what has been reported at, $20 million for this team, and dont make the championship game. I love it. One of the only lasting beauties of college basketball is that anyone can still create an upset, and anyone in theory can still win a title because its always a 1 game situation. Let the Duke booster feel the pain, their NIL donations ment nothing in the greater scheme of things this year. Maybe that make me petty, but that gives me joy and solace in this new wold of college basketball
Same here. See my posts above. They have the same to show as NCState and UNC right now in the post Coach K era. No Natty and can't win a Final 4 game. Only difference is like you said a blank check to win at hoops.

Cooper Flagg looked a bit like he didn't want that last second shot. Odd how it fell dead on the rim. A tinch more lift and it would have gone in.

Finally, a fun game in this fairly boring tournament.

One of the few Duke team's I didn't mind their players as well. Actually liked most of them which is not usual. Not like they had a bunch of Graysons out there.

Their fanbase and program overall though I do hate. They think they deserve to just win because they have a blue Duke jersey. An entire fanbase that worships them but would never be allowed to even set foot on campus or can afford to go to a game. I have met countless Duke fans that throw on their Duke jersey or hat one week a year. Reading the post about how 99.9% of people bet on Duke says it all.

it ultimately came down to two marginal FT shooters each with 1 and 1’s as the game came down to the very end. Proctor missed the front end up 1. Then Roberts, only a 62% FT shooter, drills two while down 1. Imagine the pressure! So while Duke did help , Houston had to make big plays to take advantage of their opportunities and they did.

Houston was down 14 or 15 points, that's more than a couple of plays. Free throws matter but they had to come back just to be in that position.

Personally, I was dismayed at the physically of the first game and how the officials seemed to favor Auburn over Florida. Auburn was physically man handling Florida with no foul calls

In addition, the calls in the Duke - Houston game were strongly in Houston’s favor especially in the late minutes of the game.

The tenacious Houston defense in the late minutes were niot without several uncalled fouls.

Even given the above, Duke had at least two opportunities to ice the game at the foul line but came up short on those occasions.

You mean like the call where Duke kicks it out of bounds and they called it off Houston?

Officiating in general is awful lately. The calls and non calls make the game very difficult to watch.

Thinking of a game recently where a player went textbook straight up to block a shot and was called for a foul.

Then last night, massive contact as a Duke player drives to the rim and goes sprawling out of bounds, no call, and the announcer explains it away on the slow mo replay like the non call made sense.

Its a combination of the inconsistency, game to game & announcers putting a spin on everything that make it hard to watch.

Ok. Well usually people care about the opinion of the fanbase of the team imploding. They have different expectations for results there especially when they’re giving out blank checks.
You started by taking a victory lap that he's not safe to an immediate pivot to well I just meant he's not a lifetime lock. Lol who is? Putting any real stock in gameday or day after internet threads is ridiculous.

Have to say I don’t remember Duke choking away a big game like that ever. They were ahead by 14 with 8 and a half to go.

I fell asleep with couple minutes left... Shocked when I saw they lost this AM.

Duke shot more free throws than Houston.

Guess I'm just numb to bad CBB ref'ing by now. I thought they let a lot go both ways early in the first game but didn't see it as particularly one-sided until the last minute or so. Usually the trailing team is going to get most of the 50/50 calls at the end which happened to be Auburn & Houston. The Flagg call was weak but oh well. Do you even want that call if you're Houston with a 60 FT guy taking a 1and1? It's probably pretty close.

First of all, I did not care who won or lost the game. The majority of the calls in the last 3-4 minutes were one-sided against Duke.

one call went against Duke that was likely undeserved .

Imploding? C'mon now.

If 99.9% of people bet on Duke then the line would have been a lot higher than 5.

Yep, and one wasn't called on Flagg on the Houston missed 3, follow up dunk, right before that. After the announcers said something about it, I went back and slo-mo that, and Flagg definitely fouled him, no call.
