It would have been a turnoverI don’t have a way to replay it, but I don’t think a travel would ever be called there.

Yeah but better a turnover with clock stopped than losing bc time ran out. As we know inbounds are no guarantee. I get why he didn’t grab it, but he clearly wishes he did now.It would have been a double dribble and Florida's ball.
Agreed. Getting those two Houston bigs in foul trouble, made a difference, as well.It was Florida’s defense that won this game.
Doesn’t matter either way. You can’t jump like you are going to shoot and then come down even if you haven’t dribbled. TravelHe dribbled before he jumped? Didn't notice that - somehow! lol
I'm clearly not that observant. And perhaps should drink less.
Yeah, that story seemingly just evaporated.“I want to thank all those hot freshman co-eds I um mean my family.” -Todd Golden

They had the best player. Duke did not have Floridas guards. Its why Florida won in crunch time.Duke was the best team.. They fell apart just like Houston and just like auburn . Duke probably wins 70% of the time with these 4 teams
I seeMy reply was regarding the long inbound play Florida ran, not the final play by Houston.
When there were about two minutes left, and it was tied, I thought this is going to come down to who is going to close this game better. Florida has been a great closing team. Who is going to make more clutch plays and who is going to make a mistake? It went Florida’s way.Kind of hard to believe. They had so few turnovers until the end. But the fouls did catch up with them.
Dukes guards were bad against Houston. That was the difference. They had the best player. Duke did not have Floridas guards. It’s why Florida won in crunch time.
Nope. I think Houston is the best team. Duke is the second best. But both teams panicked in the last minute of the game. So Florida said thank you and takes the championship.Florida was the best team.
You slip it and it’s a 2-1 or dunk. Houston’s guards were incapable of figuring that out . Nor their coachFlorida’s defense the final six minutes was just unbelievable. Houston couldn’t get off any shots. Teams need to realize high screens just brings two defenders to the ball.
It’s not even close from a talent perspective. That’s why I want great guards and athletic bigs. Guards win you games in crunch time.Dukes guards were bad against Houston. That was the difference.
UmmmDuke was the best team.. They fell apart just like Houston and just like auburn . Duke probably wins 70% of the time with these 4 teams
Houston has no actual pg. they have three shooting guards that run pointNope. I think Houston is the best team. Duke is the second best. But both teams panicked in the last minute of the game. So Florida said thank you and takes the championship.
Great post. I generally don't care for high screens especially in that situation.Florida’s defense the final six minutes was just unbelievable. Houston couldn’t get off any shots. Teams need to realize high screens just brings two defenders to the ball.
I disagree. Florida has proven to be the best team all year. They were the best team in the SEC, which is arguably the best conference this year. I think Duke was close. I picked Florida over Duke in the final and I think Duke should’ve made it to the final. They didn’t have enough experience with close games.Nope. I think Houston is the best team. Duke is the second best. But both teams panicked in the last minute of the game. So Florida said thank you and takes the championship.
Maybe I liked it because I was a Knicks fan during those days. I still am, but they don’t play that way anymore. That game looked like nba in the early 90s, Big East w/ 6 fouls.
Verrrry physical.
