Similar question as to why Dillon was available. Why has he been at Howard, Charlotte and Marshall since leaving Virginia in 2015? The recruiting accolades in the earlier part of the decade are a big reason for optimism but still get a little pause regarding the 2nd half and why he'd have been at such low level programs given his success and acknowledgment at VA.

Valid concerns. My first thought is that at least he was a Coordinator at both low level schools. So cornerbacks to coordinator at Howard, to coordinator at D1 Charlotte, to corners at Marshal. He did stay in VA the first year (where he’s from) and then took the promotion to Charlotte just a few hours away. Could family have played a role? He has 5 young children.

I agree it was a strange part of the presser and out of character for Dino.
I assume he was trying to get the fans excited about the change but it ended up sounding like a parent who reluctantly lets their kid do something they really shouldn't be doing.

I get that part. Just going from ACC recruiter of the year in 2014 and on an upward career trajectory to being at a FBS school 3 years later is not a normal thing.

He was the one responsible for pulling in the 2 5* guys to UVA in 2014 in the Va Beach/Chesapeake area which is nice. Even the 2nd tier kids there are pretty damn good.

If we're playing 3-3-5 base, it doesn't make a lot of sense for Stannard and Reynolds to both coach the DL. I'd guess Stannard moves to LB.

I would think stannard would stay and Reynolds would be moved. stannard has done a really good job with de since he joined the staff.
I’m wondering if there will be more staff changes in the next couple of weeks. You would think that the others may stay but there will have to be reorganization. I really like this hire but would like another coach brought in with familiarity with the 3-3-5 to help implement the defense.

Reynolds has never coached LB before. Only D-Line. Stannard has coached linebackers and took over the room when Ward got fired.
