Class of 2018 New Commit: Griffin Cook (NY:Jamesville-Dewitt) Attack Signed

Victor 13, JD 10.

Cook 1 & 3
Very young JD down 7-2 in First half made it a one goal game late 2nd half, JD showed lots of heart in a sophomore heavy lineup. Cook playing middie for Coach Archer to start this season. Hard-nosed, willing to hit and fearless taking on Victor middies. Check out the knockdown check and takeaway leads to assist and cut lead to 12-10 late in 4th...

Has Cook grown? vertically?
can't really tell how much he's grown; the player he knocked flat in the video is listed at 6'2" 210 in the Victor program; call it 5'8"-9"..?

In the videos from last year, he looks really small, like 5'5"-ish. But he plays much bigger. I'd be thrilled if he measured 5'7" when he got to SU. Plenty of great attackmen have been very short.

Toughness and leadership. Caught 2nd half of the game, very impressive performance, mental toughness and field sense really stand out; Cook tried a lob pass that got picked off on one possession, kept his head up, recovered from behind the goal and forced a TO before FM could get the ball over midfield. This kid just never quits and never takes a play off. HHH personified, can’t wait to see him in Orange
