Class of 2017 New Commit: Owen Seebold (TX), Attack

Owen Seebold, A, 2017, Highland Park (Texas), Syracuse

No lack of talent in this guys offensive game. Seebold seems to have a nose for finding open spots on offense and is a slippery player. He also looks like he's grown a few inches as well since last summer. Syracuse fans might see a glimmer of 2016 Dylan Donahue in his game.

He stands out among his Coastal peers for his size, and Seebold looks like a natural goal-scorer. Two of his best plays Saturday both occurred while he was moving topside from his X with the stick in his right hand. On one play, he put a shoulder into his man below GLE without losing speed, continued topside and used the separation to get off a nice high-to-high finish. In another instance, he snuck from behind and took a top-down pass from future teammate (and fellow No. 4) Clayton Burt, which he finished with a nice turning shot.

Notre Dame’s, Syracuse’s 2017 groups are impressive

Notre Dame had the most commits of any school on the ACC 2017 roster with eight, and players like Arden Cohen, Michael Drake, Connor Morin, John Ryan Hallenbeck, Jake Frane, and Matthew Schmidt were key contributors on a squad that won every game at the ILCA before falling in the championship.

Syracuse’s group also impressed. Owen Seebold had a fantastic tournament, finishing with seven goals. Jacob Walthour was a dangerous LSM in transition, finishing with two goals, while Lucas Quinn saved his best performance for the championship game, where he scored two goals and two assists in a loss to the Big East.

Arguably the most unique event in high school lacrosse, Project 9 is set to take place this weekend in Baltimore, as all-time greats Paul Rabil and Mark Millon spearhead a staff that will lead 67 of the nation’s best recruits during a grueling three-day weekend of training and preparation for the rigors of college lacrosse. Of those 67, an impressive 28 of the juniors and seniors have been honored as Top 100 players here on Recruiting Rundown in September’s rankings.

Players will have five sessions of training at St. Paul’s, Loyola University and Johns Hopkins as well as extensive meetings with film and feedback, yoga sessions and college prep talks with a staff full of former and current MLL standouts. On Sunday, players will be split into teams for a final series of games with gear from sponsors Warrior, New Balance and OT Sports. At the conclusion of the event, ‘Most Likely To Dominate’ positional awards will be handed out.
