By no means am I minimizing the alleged sexual abuse/hazing of a player but this trash program should have been shut down after the coaching staff allegedly obstructed justice after the shooting in November.
Do they have a new coach? They beat UCant in the tourney last year. What an ugly situation.

“Allegedly” is kind of an important word. Remember what “allegedly” happened at Syracuse with Bernie Fine? Should Syracuse have taken stronger action early to address what turned out to be a made up story?

There’s literally nothing in the world that irritates me more than people acting like they are morally superior because they would have acted to address a situation sooner. You may as well take it to its logical conclusion and form a vigilante lynch mob to address issues quickly enough to suit your time expectations.

Has to be pretty serious for them to shut a program down.

I wonder how bad the hazing for frats at SU is currently. Was pretty ridiculous what people you were paying to be friends with expected you to consent to in order to join the frat.
Given how quickly SU is willing to shut down a Greek org, it doesn't have to be pretty serious. My mind was blown seeing the list of suspended orgs at SU.

Hazing is nothing more than a power dynamic between those who are “in” and those who want to be in. At its core, it is potentially abusive because the ones with the power are obviously dictating to the ones without.

The “rookie” dinners are a prime example where multimillionaire pro athletes stick a rookie with a dinner check for near 6 figures, even though a-lot of these rookies are on non-guaranteed deals making the league minimum, and can be easily cut tomorrow and have no income. That is true azzholery. I actually think the butt paddling is less offensive

Smh. It’s a wonder we don’t see way more violence in these scenarios. Frankly, we should. Tom Brady isn’t sticking a rook with a $5,000 bottle of wine that he takes one sip out of, if he’s at risk of getting lumped up after practice by someone half his age.
