Class of 2024 New Transfer: Michael Grace (ON: Sherwood School) Defense / Transfer from RIT

Assuming he can make the D3-->D1 adjustment that is a nice starting group at close next year.

6'5" - Another taller defender to go alongside Dwan.

Yes, and someone who can do damage in transition. Would be quite interesting to have a defensive duo with such height and goal scoring ability. Looks like he played on the wing for RIT too as well, SU will have a major hole at LSM next year. Not sure where he projects but nice to know he has some versatility.

The transition is definitely a mixed bag. Puckhaber hasn't played much for SU this year, Titus has just been a man-down specialist. Mitch Wycoff was pretty decent for SU as a starting D man. I think, if you get guys who are "best at their position" players, like Grace seems to be, you should be getting a pretty high impact guy. Thinking of player here like Mason Kohn, Jack Boyden. Grace might be the number one pick in the NLL this year, so I am thinking he will defininty be part of the rotation in some form or another for the Orange.

Would say Wycoff was more than pretty decent for us. Came in and was almost immediately given the toughest 1v1 match ups. Did a pretty darn good job with most of them too.

Wouldn't be surprised if he got looked at LSM to start. That's where SU will need the most support going into next year and where he could jump right in from day 1.

Wouldn’t we still have olexo if he choose to stay? yes we loose wright n 2 transfers in puckhaber n schmitch but they haven’t even seen field which i think they should been given a chance. But either way this dude seems like he will def help.

Olexxo is out of eligibility, he's gone.

this would be his 4th year as his true freshman year was 2020 which was covid year no? so wouldn’t he get 5th year?

actually looks like wasn’t even on roster for 2020 as could of red shirted saids freshmen year was 2021. So feel he would have 1 more year no? I could be totally wrong.

OT: Fran mentioned the men's lax game on Orange Nation today. Mentioned that they will be bringing the FB recruits to (part of) the game. Hope we draw especially well for this one! Really love the programs supporting one another.

He didn't redshirt in 2021, he played in a bunch of games. 21, 22, 23 and 24, played all 4 years, he's out of eligibility.

I know it was a priority to really get a big crowd but there hasn't been as much media or advertisement about the game as I expected. Still I think your probably looking at the biggest crowd of the year.

Yeah, the only viable LSMs on the roster for next year are Dylan Sageder and Tommy Drago. Both have played on the man down unit this year and Sageder was the backup LSM last year as a freshman. Drago would be a redshirt senior next year, perhaps he doesn’t want to use his extra year. Other than that it’s really slim pickings.

As for Grace, just not sure what position is his best. I would think he would play at close since that’s where he has been but you never know. Probably depends as well on if Caccamo and/or Kol come back, and Donny Scott’s health status. Still, have to imagine he plays somewhere.

Gary and Kayla did a radio show promoting their games last night there are multiple digital billboards on 81 and 690 SU has posted several Paul Gait highlights and ads on YouTube it won’t be 1990 numbers but they will have a crowd

The radio show was the weekly coaches show, that happens every week usually on Thursday.

Sat will likely be the biggest crowd of the year but the # SU was shooting was well above what were likely to get Sat. I think they needed to really promote this heavy to get where they wanted to be.

I’m not sure how you even “promote heavy” anymore. Nobody buys papers, watches the local news and barely listen to local radio. It’s all streaming and Twitter. I guess the athletic dept could up there socials but I’ve seen a good amount of push from Cuse lax, gait lax and suad.

digital ads. I agree, I have seen steady promotion on the SU social feeds I watch.
