We are playing wounded Tigers on the road. Both coaches are fighting for their jobs.

Cuse's season either elevates (2-0), muddles along (1-1) or craters (0-2).

Time to be all in...Fans attending, let's be heard on TV!

I would say that ALL of the momentum continues or dies this weekend. We HAVE to beat USF. Nothing else matters just yet.

Fly to Tampa, beat USF, come out injury-free, fly home safely is an ideal scenario.

Agreed, all positive momentum we've gained in the past two weeks would come to a screeching halt if we come out flat and lose to USF. I am a little worried about it to be honest... Young team on the road for the first time?

We need to come out fast and bury them early, USF will quit if they go down a couple scores in the 1st half.

Here's why I'm hopeful.

Our offensive system is very hard to defend:

- Teams have to prepare for the option (requires discipline)
- Teams have to deal with the XB lining up everywhere (and with Erv back, that role changes again) (requires discipline and game tape of Erv - URI was very vanilla. I'm also not convinced we've seen even 60% of what this could be.)
- Teams have to deal with a devastating play action off of all that (requires discipline)
- Dungey can do all of that AND make something out of nothing (requires a cheap shot to the head to stop apparently)

Our defense is poor against the pass but:

- USF can't pass that well

Need Pitt to win this week. UVA 1-4 at home, a lot of negative energy, should be a low attendence, dispirited crowd just looking for a reason to turn on their team.

double edged sword with our pursuit of Chris Clark... Guess a W at UVA is more important, than a Pitt win this week, and positive reinforcement for his recruitment there.

all i know about our offensive system is that when things breakdown...dungey seems to be pretty good at creating peaches and cream out of shlit.

problem is, hes only thrown about 40 passes so the body of work is pretty small.

from what ive seen of lester, hes been able to work the 2nd, 3rd and even 4th string QB into his offense and hasnt seem to miss a beat.

thats encouraging.

the goofy part of the schedule is over...d1aa, crappy acc, crappier mac and an absolute powerhouse...so now its time to play real football v our peers.

lets see.....

What's most important with Chris Clark is that we're 5-1, because if we're 5-1 and coming back home to play Pitt...there's a good chance there'll be a real crowd at the Dome. Clark is coming back specifically to see what the game day atmosphere is like before deciding. The atmosphere needs to be absolutely as good as possible.

UVA is going to be a big crowd for their homecoming

SU and Pitt with one loss each will be huge.

Agreed - funny thing is though that Pitt's atmosphere is garbage and they don;t even play on campus. Anything has to be better than that.

I agree with everyone in this thread. That said I would be OK with coming out of these games at 1-1.

Nah...Syracuse fans never bandwagon for important games...;)

Agreed...if Cuse is 5-1 I could see a good TV slot and 40k+ real bodies

SU could help themselves with a tix push the week leading up.

Agreed. We get to 6 wins by Halloween, and we're playing with house money the rest of the season.

This is a captain obvious statement. 1-1 wouldnt be fatal but really need to beat usf.

The 13-9 win in 2010? Loved that game. Gutsy drive down the whole field to win it. Antwon Bailey was great that day.

yep, what a staetment win it was. That drive was systematic. Took up the entire 4th quarter and put up 7 when we needed it
