:anxiously rolls and dodges stilettos wondering how many times he can use this joke:
Sellers was a redshirt Freshman this past year. Why is everyone not believing in Williams? Think Sellers was “ready” to play in sec right away? No chance but look what he did and how he performed as a true freshman. I think they are nuts if they don’t start JW
Agreed but i hope not as that means we have lost two or more QbsI agree if you mean earning the job in the summer/preseason.
But if you look at what has happened the past decade or so with QBs at SU and injuries, we have ended up starting walk ons, tight ends, the 3rd string guy, etc. far too often.
Maybe that will change with Coach Brown. Maybe not.
I know this. I like having some depth in the QB room. Wish we had more in previous years. Like last year for instance...
I would think that if they are brining in a guy that’s not a guaranteed starter, than they think pretty highly of Williams…knowing he could win the job.Don’t you think that Coach Fran Brown has seen enough in practice?
Do we not trust what he sees at every practice?
Fran sees next year's schedule as our ticket to make the danceI have complete confidence Fran will get what he needs. Even though 2025 schedule is very difficult Fran will not see the season as a bridge to 2026. He does not seem he will concede any game.
and we have a winnerMy next guess is a guy who was Mr FB in his state and his college HC that brought him in is no longer there.
10-2 with that schedule gets you in. 9-3 if it says Alabama on your jersey.Fran sees next year's schedule as our ticket to make the dance
We can all be excited about Jakari while being excited about a potential transfer he can compete against. If Jakari is that good there shouldnt be any problem.

I think the entire staff approach right now indicates they’d be just fine if Williams is the guy. They just don’t like what’s behind him and want a guy who could start if needed, and at the very least pushes Williams.

Jfc the first paragraph is him “aw shucks”-ing behavior that would get him arrested for sexual assault today. In 2008!"Colt, We Never Got the Chance To Know Ye"? Bud was terrible, my god.
I know we aren’t looking to break the bank here but I feel like we can do so much better than thatNunzio, Dale Williams and Coach Johnson all now following Ryan Browne on X, the Purdue QB who's now in the portal.
He just practiced as the scout team QB running against the first and second team defense all year. A 6-2, 205 pound dual threat QB is definitely something I’m okay with. The problem is everyone thinks Kyle McCord is going to pop up in portal every year now. Some of these kids may have experience but doesn’t mean they are good. So yeah I’m good with JW especially from what I have heard and seenYou fully trust handing the keys to an unproven commodity with zero experience. You are definitely consistent if nothing else.
They can do better than that and really hope they wait until the portal opens to see everyone who could be available. Not too thrilled with a qb who’s offers were Holy cross and Toledo as a prospectNunzio, Dale Williams and Coach Johnson all now following Ryan Browne on X, the Purdue QB who's now in the portal.
There is no harm in evaluating what is out there no matter how good Williams might be. Do we want Fran to think any other way? FWIW, my understanding is they are looking at QBs who might be able to compete for QB1. That doesn't mean that they will be able to find AND sign a guy like that. Similarly, there are no guarantees that a guy who has never taken a snap at this level is as good as they think he might be.He just practiced as the scout team QB running against the first and second team defense all year. My guess is Poffenbarger from Miami. Played at Albany before that. Plus his name is Reese and Reese's PB cups primary color is OrangeStill haven't seen the name of "our guy" on here
Agreed and I think it's exciting to know we might have a player there BUT if we want to keep moving the program and narrative about the program you have to have competition at that position in particular. To me you don't bring in a 1 year guy but a possible multi year guy and make it a competition. Right now I want at least 2 guys fighting for QB1 for next year. Happy Williams is one of those guys.Don’t you think that Coach Fran Brown has seen enough in practice?
