NFL Talent

Lots of people said JRS was an NFL guy when he transferred in. We saw some of that talent today.

Stonehouse is a guy who will get a shot.

Will Nixon is a sure handed slippery SOB. He’s going to be in a camp somewhere just for his out of the backfield potential.

If Villari wants to keep doing what he’s done so far, he will be in a camp as well.

“Sadly” most of our potential NFL guys are very young. Hornsby, Ross, Samuels, Willis, Deslauriers Byron Washington are just a few.

Not sure if they would get drafted, but Ross Simmons and Gill look the most like pros to me. Ross Simmons does the things Meeks did.

Who knows if Villari can continue to progress. He is definitely a weapon. There are more and more smaller athletic tight ends his size in the NFL nowadays.

Perfect for a jet sweep.
No. Sweeps usually require good decision making to turn up field. Besides if that’s the only way they can use him it’s too easy for defenses to key off that.

He’s a fit with teams that use a single guy as a TE/FB/HB. Certainty has work to do to get a chance to get into a camp.

There's less decision making than there is when you're taking a handoff from a traditional RB spot. You're mostly trying to beat guys to the edge, which is what his speed is made for. If he lines up outside with Willis in the backfield, defenses can't key on it. They have to respect Willis. You run the same action with Willis sometimes taking the handoff other times faking the dive and sometimes James takes the handoff and sometimes fakes the sweep. You could even run play action off of it.

And you can throw the ball to James putting someone on the field who might break it besides Cook. With Cook being limited there aren't many options to Have long plays. Uconn had a couple we had none.

Could be wrong, but thought I saw 53 yard TD pass and run... That seems pretty long.

But yeah, there were not a lot.
