NFL Thread - 2018

I’ll answer for him. Yes he does.
well, that is ridiculous. First, it would be impossible to keep something like that secret. Someone would talk and it would be the greatest scandal since the 1919 white sox.

Well, the Patriots have won five Super Bowls and are currently owning the #1 seed on their home field.

What exactly should he say? I suppose he should be blaming the Bills, Jets, and Dolphins instead of giving credit where it’s due.

Praise them when the game is decided not halfway through the first quarter with a one score lead.

Yeah, three non-calls on the Chargers, one QB Roughing, and one Defensive Holding on the Pats, and you can flip the 35-7 score to 14-14 pretty easily.

Its easy to keep drives alive when every 3rd down incompletion is a foul.
So, the refs are in on it. How do they keep it all secret? And the better question is why? Why would they NFL do that? It risks the whole ball game. Something like that gets out, the NFL is now the WWE. Do the other owners know? The Pats win like every other team wins. Having the better team. Does baseball favor the Yanks? Or the Sox? It's ridiculous. But keep holding on to that's why they win.

Mahomes looked a little jittery in his first two drives.

Hope he looks more settled on his next drive.

This is just ridlicious to claim last week the Patriots beat the Chargers because of the refs.
That was an a$$ whooping. You literally think every call goes to NE’s way when the game is close.
When the Patriots commit penalties they are called just like other teams.
When the Patriots get calls you are posting like none of the calls are correct.

Yes, there is a SWAT team of refs they have, must pay them well, like 6 out of 18 crews...the Owners are all in on it, or a cadre of them are, becuase it maximizes the value of all the ownership.

The networks are not going to pay prime dollar to have Jacksonville vs. Buffalo on TV.

I've explained it to you...the Patriots are "elite" coached everywhere but Special Teams, that it illogical

They lead the league in STs penalties by a wide margin both in terms of absolute and % of team penalites, over the last decade, and I'm sure going back to 2001 or whatever.

I keep making this argument over the years when one of the tinfoil-hat wearers on the board start posting about how the NFL (or the ACC re: Duke/UNC/etc.) 'won't let' a team lose, Goodell/Swofford 'make a call', etc.

It never takes. Don't waste your time.

Okay. It's impossible to keep a secret like that. Not everyone would be willing to be in on it.

Nit picking. The Pats are playing great. they are well prepared. I suggest that when K.C. get their act together, and I think they will, he will praise them.

You were correct.

Someone get Romo a napkin for his drooling over Mahomes.

I find it slightly less nauseating but absurd nonetheless.

This game is telling me the 2017 Philadelphia Eagles OL was underrated.

Yep, Gilmore goes from 9 PI penalties with the Bills, under a GREAT D coach, to the Patriots where he gets 1 PI penalty in 16 games, and that was against the Jets in the 2H when the margin was 30 or something.

He didn't get "coached better" in 5 months, he got reffed fairer.

This is a fair point. Alsacs used to think Gilmore was a good corner when on the Bills but this year he says he’s elite... Gilmore is the same player he always was.

KC is an absolute joke in this game. Another team that decides to sh__ the bed against New England. Sad.

Gilmore has been good this year.
Patricia last year played 90% zone.
Which was a bad fit for Gilmore.
This year Flores has played man to man thirds which fits Gilmore.
Gilmore made the play last year in the AFC Titls game that got the Patriots to the SB.
The media voted him first team all-pro for a reason.

He played the same way in Buffalo. He had one particularly dominant year in 2014.

Hopefully Andy Reid realizes there is zero chance to assume your defense will get a stop. Offense has to go for fourth down plays under a yard.
