NFL Thread - 2018

Yeah, college does it better here.
No brainer to do a hybrid, let the other team have a possession after the team who wins the toss if a td is scored. If the other team gets a td and it's a tie go the college OT system. Simple.

Well if there is one thing in sports that is undervalued, especially in the age of analytics, is competitive spirit & the guttural need to win... the Tom Brady and Belichick want it more than anyone I’ve seen in sports.

It’s unreal.
They don’t want it more, Belichick just does it better. Period. It’s not Brady. It’s a Belichick coached team

This game is telling me the 2017 Philadelphia Eagles OL was underrated.

Most folks that follow the game closely knew they had the best OL in the league last year.

LOL

So much review of Referee's calls on the NFC Championship game on TV et al...

Hysterical, they just dont get it

League has been dictating for years...

Opening line is NE-2 which I don’t get but what the hell do I know.

I don’t think if you asked fans in this thread that would have been known.
I knew Johnson was a good RT and Kelce was a good C but the other 3 weren’t known. This game today showed KC OL wasn’t Philly OL good and maybe the Philly offensive performance now looks better than originally it was perceived as bad D combined with Philly offense.

Belichick is a good coach but his QB taking less than market rate has helped a lot.
It’s why it’s doubtful to be replicated as not many QBs won’t take every penny on the salary cap as their spouse won’t be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Another argument for him wanting it more.

Experience vs no experience in big games. Same as why I wasn't buying the chiefs tonight. I'm hoping for the Rams obviously, but no way would I spend more than a bet with friends on them.

I disagree. I'd like to see Brady retire so we could find out.

Giving a player equity in other projects and cheating the system, when convicted of other issues, isn't exactly ingratiating,..it will all come out some day

Agree. Brady was the only reason last years SB was close. Pedersen completely outcoached Belichick.

Fans on this thread are not gonna watch Philly play week in and week out. I'm talking about people that are very familiar with the team.

Brandon Brooks was not unknown. He made the Pro Bowl last year and was considered the best guard in the NFL. So from Kelce, Brooks, Johnson they easily had the best trio in the league from C out to RT. Wisniewski (sp) was decent and I don't know how NE didin't torch Big V but he played well in relief of Peters. The first time a NE player touched Foles was during the post-game handshakes.

Brady isn’t retiring this year. Even if they win. He pledged to Kraft after they traded Jimmy G he would play thru his current contract which expires after next year.
The problem for Patriots haters is they have a lot of draft picks in this year’s draft. They could restock the talent.
1 first rounder, 2 second rounders and 4 third round picks in this draft.

You should listen to Felger and Mazz and read Ben Volin in the Boston Globe.
They are exactly the type of media you would like.

Two great games today marred by horrible officiating.

For the playoffs the NFL needs to place somebody in the booth and when a clearly botched call is made that guy in the booth has the power to buzz down and overrule the call or non-call on the field. Then plays like the LAR PI or the phantom roughing the passer call on KC against Brady are immediately reversed. These players move quickly and we've got dudes out there in their mid 50s trying to keep up and it's impossible. They have the technology - use it.

One other thing, go back to the way it used to be. If the ball hits any part of the ground then it's not a catch. Too much subjectivity now. Keep it simple.

^^^^^. Spot on...people can be butthurt all they want about the Pats and Brady but when all is said and done, those that are whining are usually the losing fans. Brady and Belichek push the pedal down all the time. Oh and I am a Dolphins fan so they can smoke a turd in hell as well but ya gotta give them credit.

Whatcha gonna do. Now I’m forced to root for the Pats. I’ll be sick if the Rams win.

I had LA on the money line and I didn't even feel that good about getting the win.
