I can't make up my mind re: week 17 if the 2seed is worth going after. It's complicated. Does the league stick the Bills with the early 1p Saturday wildcard start because it's Buffalo (probably)? If so that'll be the 4th short week in 5 freaking games. I don't love resting guys but think you kind of have to in that scenario.

An 11-5 team might miss the playoffs in the AFC.
With 7 playoff teams that is pretty nuts.
Kansas City 13-1
Pittsburgh 12-2
Buffalo 11-3

Then
Tennessee 10-4
Cleveland 10-4
Indianapolis 10-4
Miami 9-5
Baltimore 9-5

Tennessee has Green Bay, Houston
Cleveland has NY Jets, Pittsburgh
Indy has Pittsburgh, Jacksonville
Miami has Las Vegas, Buffalo
Baltimore has NY Giants, Cincinnati

Pretty deep conference.

I think the toughest matchup for Kansas City outside of Buffalo is Cleveland.
Cleveland has a running game and defensive line to slow the game and shorten it.

You'd know better than me but didn’t the Patriots miss the playoffs with an 11-5 record back in the early 2000s sometime? I vaguely remember the Jets winning the division either via tiebreaker or at 12-4 and the Patriots missing out altogether. Either way, missing out at 11-5 with seven teams would be pretty gut wrenching.

Yeah made no sense. He said he was going for fourth downs early because he knew they had an uphill battle against a hot offense so he didn't kick the fg's, but when he was down 10 late he didn't go for it.

Seems to be the reverse approach of what one should have done

2008 Cassel season the Pats went 11-5 and missed the playoffs.

They tied the division but lost the tiebreaker.

With 7 playoff teams they would have made it though.

For the Bill can't win without Tom Brady crowd.

Do you think Bill’s above throwing the game vs NY?

He got someone else to do the dirty work.

My take is I feel bad for the fans. But I’m impressed the players played hard and got themselves a nice win during a miserable time

No surprised the players are still going hard. In the Not For Long no player gives a schlit about 2021. They are going to put their best game on tape. It's up to management to trade away the players anyone else wants.

This Raiders fan for 35 yrs. can tell you now that all hope is lost they'll get their act together.
Mariota gets 250k for every game he plays 60% of the snaps and 350k for every game he wins.

That is why the Raiders offense will compete hard.

Big Ben doesn’t have it anymore.

He hasn’t has it for a long time ... been sort of camouflaged by the previously dominant D... now that’s gone and it’s obvious..

Recall that they barely beat the Broncos at home when Denver was starting Driscoll

Pitt looks absolutely shot. No run game, D in shambles and a statue at QB who looks like a softball pitcher on a Sunday morning beer league
And JuJu got lit up.

Cincinnati was 14.5 point dog.
Pittsburgh can’t run the ball and Cincy’s zone Is shutting down the short passing game.

And JuJu got lit up.

Leveled. Im in a conundrum though. Playing against JuJu in fantasy but have Pitts D. Of course the offense has buried the defense so far.

Well the reason the Dolphins went 11-5 and the Jets were 9-3 before Favre's arm fell off was the AFCE played both West divisions which were trash that year.

If Cincinnati wins this then Kansas City clinches the 1 seed.
Buffalo would control the 2 seed.
Miami potentially would be playing a Buffalo backup team week 17.
If Indy beat Pittsburgh then Cleveland would need to beat Pittsburgh and win the division or beat completely out of the playoffs if Indy/Miami/Balt won week 17.
