NFL Thread - 2020

BTW off topic but this thread is why Ben Volin is a waste.
He puts out wrong information and then just blames where he got the information instead of just admiring he was wrong or even bothering to check it out.

I swear I would take a terrible season just to get rid of his coverage.

That dude has a weird obsession with the Dolphins. Didn’t he come from south Florida?

Pittsburgh sitting Big Ben against Cleveland. Sucks for Indy. They better be huge Bills fans this weekend.

Wonder if Bills will sit ppl now

That's a very good point. I think Indy has the easiest game this weekend against Jacksonville, but I do think people are making a mistake if they think Cincinnati or Houston just roll over for Baltimore and Tennessee. I could see either team losing. Indy is the team that needs help though. Personally I can't stand Harbaugh so I hope they are out.

I dont see Houston playing hard. Cincy will not sure they can beat Bal the way they are playing.

Both of those games are on the road. It’s a mistake to think they will just roll.

The Ravens are hot right now. Cincy might hang in there for a bit but I don't see them winning. Houston has mailed it in and Ten is coming off an embarrassing loss. I see Henry running all over them.

It's insane that in the history of the league only two 11-5 teams have missed the playoffs, but this year it's possible that two 11-5 teams could miss the playoffs (if we still had the traditional 6 team format). Thus doubling the all time total in one year.

And Tom Brady is going to get some 6-10 team in the first round.

Hard to believe Houston was favored in Chicago a few short weeks ago. I never thought much of them but was still stunned they lost to the Finley Bengals, by all accounts a bottom 3 team who were coming off their lucky super bowl on mnf. Don't think it's crazy they up their effort in Romeo's last game vs a team they took to OT at their place. The Ravens though are too good of a bully vs bad teams not to roll there imo.

Good luck to Bills fans tonight. I hope you guys win a close game.
There is a path to a pick in the 10-12 range for the Patriots if they lose out.

Bills are the AFC East rival the Patriots fans dislike the least.
AFC teams I dislike It’s Jets, Dolphins, Ravens, Colts in that order.

Had the under 47. Thankfully Buffalo called of the dogs to salvage a push.

The odds of getting into fg range with 19 seconds and no timeouts are astronomical. It took two of the dumbest plays you have ever seen for it to happen.

against a normal team, yes. You have to know your personnel and not give them the chance to mess up.

The first two have OLs to control the time of possession and beat Kansas City in a low possession game.
The Bills offense is on par with KC.

If it's KC vs. Buffalo in the playoffs the Pats conspiracy segment of Bills fans can just use the same takes and replace Chiefs for Patriots.

Belichick struggles to draft WRs.
He never replaced Gronk.
That killed the offense.

The defense if everyone was healthy this year would be good enough.
They lost 2 starters to opt outs. Lost NT for the entire season during training camp, and Gilmore has been hurt.

They drafted poorly on offense.
N’keal Harry killed them when they could have had AJ Brown or DK Metcalf.

This year Belichick finally had a good draft. Duggar, Uche, Onwenu are all players.

Belichick explained himself he sold out the last few years for veterans to try and win now and it worked out.
This year was the credit card due. They had 25 million in dead money and then opt outs gave them gave cap space he didn’t burn. The Patriots never left 20 million in cap space at the end of a season. With Brady they don’t beat Buffalo this year but they are close to a playoff team if not in.

They will have the 4th most cap space and be able to fill holes. If they don’t draft a QB in the first round then getting one of Kyle Pitts, Devonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle or Rondale Moore better be the selection.
They need legitimate top offensive weapon then the rest of the receivers fall into appropriate space.

Two of those WRs you listed are 5'10" or shorter. That makes me cringe a bit. I do think Chase, Pitts (I know he is a "TE") and Smith I think are very good. Love Waddle and Moore as college players, but anyone that short makes me nervous in the pros.

Thoughts on Lance?

Lance is the highest boom or bust QB in this draft.
I think he is an elite athlete with a rocket arm.
He doesn’t have the height of Josh Allen but they compared the rest of the way.
I wouldn’t want him but my team needs a young legitimate QB prospect.
Lance seems like a Chicago Bears pick.

I would bet that NE will definitely have to trade up to get Chase and probably the same for Pitts. Not sure BB is keen on trading up for anybody but if he were to do it this year it would probably be for a QB.

The players I am interested in following are Penei Sewell, Micah Parsons, Ja’mar Chase and Gregory Rousseau.

These are top 10 picks who have sat out the entire season.
Along with Lawrence, Wilson, Surtain being top 10 guys a player I want will fall to NE. Like Waddle, Smith or Pitts.

I think Fields is a bust. I don’t want him if it’s in the top of the draft.

If the Giants cant get Sewell (and move Thomas over to RT) then I want either Chase at WR or Paye at edge. Would be happy with Smith as well.
