NFL Thread - 2020

The players I am interested in following are Penei Sewell, Micah Parsons, Ja’mar Chase and Gregory Rousseau.

These are top 10 picks who have sat out the entire season.
Along with Lawrence, Wilson, Surtain being top 10 guys a player I want will fall to NE. Like Waddle, Smith or Pitts.

I think Fields is a bust. I don’t want him if it’s in the top of the draft.

miami’s interested in waddle

miami’s interested in waddle
That would suggest they would move the 3rd pick to get into bottom of the top 10 or early teens.

I don’t think Waddle is better than Smith or Chase.
He is a speed guy though.

Miami will be the team to control the draft.
Sewell or Parsons are both elite players as well.
Miami gets the BPA or trades down.

CBS Mock as of yesterday:

Yeah that makes some sense.
I don’t see some of those guys falling that far unless Rousseau put on a lot of weight he is a top 15 pick IMO.
Elite pass rusher.

I wouldn’t take Fields in the first round to be honest.
He doesn’t impress me as an NFL QB.
Just like Tua when you have an elite college OL and weapons it’s easy in college.
He doesn’t make throws into tight windows because it’s too easy.

I would not be surprised if they do
I know I am the draft a RB in the late first round guy do you think Miami would go Ettiene or Harris with their own first round pick? After missing the top RBs last year.

They want a Tyreek. I’m guessing they trade down from the third. Micah’s a luxury but at 3 is too high imo

He's going to go in the first, but Wilson should be picked before him. I think the Falcons will take a flyer on him as I could see Ryan wanting out of a rebuild.

Bengals will take Oline for Burrow. Chase should be the first skill player picked. After that I would take Waddle then Pitts.

Harris definitely, Miami’s the only team besides Pitt with an argument to use a first on a RB

Detroit trading Stafford for picks and Detroit using that captial to trade with Miami is stuff I could see happening.
Teams that will look at QBs this draft
Jacksonville
Detroit
Atlanta
Carolina
Chicago
New England
San Francisco

Teams like Carolina, Detroit, Atlanta make sense as trade partners for Miami.

They should draft another qb. I am not saying give up on Tua, but I'm a big believer in drafting a QB until you're sure you have the guy. If Wilson is there they should take him.
Praying nightly that Miami will be in play for Watson.

What about NO?
They going to draft a QB or be one of these teams getting a traded QB.

I don’t see them turning to Jameis next year and Hill could be the bridge guy for a rookie.

Trask or Jones could be available for NO.

I don’t believe NE at 14 would go for anyone but Lance or Wilson.

If Miami offered Houston 3 and their own first honestly that’s a trade Houston should make.
Miami could trade Tua to another team for another first round pick.

Tua is going to take some work. I don’t know what it is but he doesn’t scare me. Allen developed this year but the kid had elite tools, and good coaching helped him but he had the raw potential it was just he struggled early.
I don’t see that in Tua.

It's most likely going to be Hill. Will Payton take a flyer on Wentz to try and rebuild him? Possibly.

My dream scenario before the season was the Browns getting impatient with Baker, but he's had a great year so that's not going to happen now.

Why in God’s name would Houston trade Watson? I don’t care what the offer is - they just need a good coach/gm and they’ll be good to go.

Because the team isn’t close to contending.
If they get a new coach, new GM, they will need a rebuild.
Their defense is getting old and needs upgrades.
Their offense is Watson.

They are paying Watson 40 million a year. The team with the 3rd pick and a pick in the 20’s could get a rookie QB on a rookie deal, and another starter and start the rebuild.

Plus Watson only signed a 4 year deal the team is going to have to pay him top of the market money for the next decade.

Watson had an insane season this year and they are 4-11. The roster sucks.
They don’t have their own first round or second round picks.
They have 1 pick in the top 100.
They don’t have much cap space.

The 3rd overall pick could be a franchise QB. Houston likely won’t do it but they should.

Trading Watson would be THE single dumbest move I’ve ever seen an NFL franchise make. And I’m a lifelong Bills fan.

You don’t trade away a young franchise QB.

They just went 4-11 this year with him.
The coach traded away Hopkins. That was dumb.
But they replaced with Brandin Cooks.
Houston had Will Fuller not hurt before his suspension.
They have young decent WRs.
They won 4 games. They aren’t going to contend next year with their roster.
This is a multi year rebuild.

They have a QB who is costing the 2nd most in the league and they aren’t going to win with him.

If Miami offered the 3rd overall pick and a pick in the 20’s I personally would say hire a new GM, new HC and rebuild it completely.
Indianapolis has the second most cap space in the league, a really good foundation and is going to be good.
Tennessee is going to be good next year.
Jacksonville is going to get Lawrence and has a lot of potential.

Houston has Watson costing them a lot no cap space, an aging roster and little draft capital.
The Saints had Drew Brees in his prime and didn’t have a defense they went 7-9 3 years in a row from 2014-2016.

You need a complete team. If Houston is medicore the next few years while paying Watson 40 million a year then they will have to pay him again.

The deal I am saying isn’t just giving him away the 3rd overall pick has a lot of value and another first round pick.

The Saints have also gone 50-18 since including the the Championship game. It’s easier to get out of if you have the guy than if you don’t have the guy. Of course the Saints had to play without their coach and GM earlier this decade so that set them back about 2 years.

i cant see any rebuilding team taking on wentz & watsons contract $$.

belichick could take wentz $$ though, hed find a way.

i dont think he will want to change the O for watson.

DO NOT EVER MAKE AN EXCUSE FOR BREES, YOU HAVE LOST THAT RIGHT.
