Nick Carparelli

Heard we interviewed the Toledo AD. Not sure how true that is, but wouldn't be mad at that one.

Although if South Carolina came calling in a few years he'd probably be gone.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A great hire for the now. Can't worry about what happens in the future. Think the actual Athletic Director experience makes me feel better about the hire than Brandon/Carparelli would.

Meh. Syracuse needs to think outside the box.

This is a very in-the-box choice.

We’ll see. Toledo has not had a losing football season since 2010. It’s positioned well to win in the MAC no matter who the AD.

Men’s basketball has been on a downward trend since his hire. All the other stuff I couldn’t are less about.

Don’t know how to feel about this as people alluded to if South Carolina calls at anytime he’s out of here. I would of liked carparelli but will root for Blair!
or possibly if any SEC or B1G school calls.

I wonder if Carparelli turned us down, if the money wasn't right.
Or maybe his work with the bowls wasn't hands-on enough to run an athletic department. Or maybe he bombed that question on the interview.

Agreed. Likely any AD we would have chosen would leave for South Carolina (SEC) AD job. Least we forget we had a AD leave us for Minnesota.

Director of Bowl Season does sound like the cushiest exec job ever. Can't imagine his calendar is very full Feb - September.

Or maybe he didn't want to leave a nice job to be AD of a school with problems at both major sports in a conference that is also considered to be in trouble.

Then why would he agree to an interview?

Or maybe Blair was a stronger candidate with his background and fundraising and they hired the best guy
I think this is probably the answer. My only worry about BBB is will he pull a Coyle and leave SU if the South Carolina job becomes available. But that’s down the road.
