It’s obvious that it got to this point because he wanted to do it his own way instead of buying into a joint effort. That’s his pregotive, but I don’t know of any school that is letting a donor run his own NIL scheme. Even Repole is donating to a collective at St. John’s.

What is the end game? They let him back and then what? Does he actually come back. I have to admit I am skeptical he does. I feel like he’s using this situation to win a PR war. By the way I used to support him until this debacle as he’s done a lot for CNY, but he’s lost me here.

Say we get in a bidding war with UNC for a point guard. We offer 2 million, but UNC offers 2.25. Does he help close the deal or is he only paying for players himself? How does having two pots of money help us. How do you know he doesn’t scare other donors away that don’t want to put up with the way he does business?

You could be right, but I don't think so. I think he would love to resume bringing celebrities to games and for Adam being the guy that lands the TOP target on our board. The collective would take care of everything else. He likes to make a splash. It's his style. If that is what it takes, so long as he doesn't break rules, I am good with it. But, it isn't up to me.

It doesn’t explain why he was asked to step away? There has to be a reason. Doing it his own way maybe a few years ago might have been not how SU was comfy with then but it’s different now. I don’t get where Lallys fall into it. Shouldn’t even be attached to this but some how are. Nothing is obvious. I don’t pretend to know but it is baffling

I think the ET and Devo podcast were discussing ways to improve NIL It’s makes sense they are in off season but AW came up and stirred up old stuff. Next show they had they talked about a woman who jumped in there messages of the show saying all sorts of things It ended up being Lally. I just don’t understand her getting in the messages. From what they said it seemed a bit abrasive. Here we are

One family has donated probably 50 million to SU sports and it’s not the guy you’re sticking up for in this thread who maybe has been good for a million total.

Is this legit and true?! 50 million?! Thought it was much much less. If true then it does at least now make more sense to me why the admin will take care of them and push the other guy out for whatever the reasons are they don’t like AW.

Is it proven that Weistman has ever actually donated anything? He brought--like--random celebrities to games, but that doesn't mean he's a real booster. I remember he said he'd pay $1m for a 5 star recruit, but he never actually did that. I'm dubious, and the Lallys are truly the best donors we have.

These are the takes that I truly don’t get. I don’t have a tie to either. If the the names were reversed in the story I would feel the same way. The names are irrelevant to me. I am interested in understanding how this becomes an issue when every dollar matters. It’s not either or.
