And who takes over as the new coach? People just want JB gone. But what’s the plan for his successor? Autry or GMac? I have serious doubts about those two as head coaching material. Hop returns? Jason Hart? Total refresh?

Hart or total refresh would be my choices.

But if scrap metal money is tied to continuity, then go with Autry and hope he’s got it.

When we had a team of basically all freshmen/sophs like Flynn, Donte, Scoop, Rick, Harris, AO(lol at calling this years freshmen the best class ever - Flynn class kills it), I could be pulled into it. I’m certainly not heading to the Dome to watch Girard and Edwards in the NIT. *shrug*

Also, there’s been so much discussion over who should be the new coach. We’ve been talking about it for several years at this point.

Yeah, people just want JB gone…because it’s over. Most seem to want an outside hire of the best guy we can get but are resigned to the easy, lazy “continuity hire”…..that may work out. Who knows?

This isn’t some scrub school, if this job is open, it’s one of the more coveted jobs in college b-ball.

We must go EXTERNAL outside the program for the new coach. A proven winning coach who can immediately win with a positive outlook who will go coast to coast / global recruiting with an emphasis on rebounding and willing to go all in for a talented point guard. This will Cause an internal struggle because JB will try and have his choice as the new coach. Should not be allowed to happen. Going to have to pony up the money, no way around it. I would go hard after an extremely successful proven, talented former VILLANOVA head coach. Does he have the itch? Go after him AD Wildhack. If you do not we will never know.

The team is young. We just need time they are starting to jell. Make a couple of shots and we are looking at a 5 seed

J Hart or total refresh is where I’ve been leaning for awhile (if Hop can’t turn it around). I mean, maybe Autry has what it takes, who knows. I have a gut feeling JB wants Gmac. Does Gmac have some secret amazing basketball mind that we don’t know about? I don’t get that sense.

It will be whomever JB wants... When he wants... And if, after 3 years, it doesn't work and a change is needed... Then... maybe... the AD does a proper coach search and selection.

But I half think JB would get to choose that coach too.

So you're saying Wildhack is the Emperor, but JB is Shogun?
 
We aren't even on the Last 4 Out for the NIT as of now

I am saying JB has full control of the program - period.

Wildhack deals with football, LAX, and Olympic sports .. not basketball.

No, not on the 2nd search. He would be so far removed by then. Who knows who would be AD then, too.
