NIT

That's a clown presser, Buzz.
Which Buzz had a bigger clown show of a press conference? Curly this past week or our own Buzz who told fans to "get a life"

You're not sure that the ACC was as bad as people really think?

Okay.
hmm.. what happened.. a bad 2 min away from 4 acc teams in final 16. B10 needs Purdue to not hang the hat on Mich. SEC has Ark and B12 comes out looking good.

Continues to be a losing argument.

Miami looked great / UNC had a big win. Doesn't change that this year's conference, top to bottom, was god awful.

Why do people make the claim that one weekend offsets an entire season of subpar performance? And are you really going to claim that four teams got there when only three did? C'mon -- you're better than that.

The strong tournament showing absolutely offsets the down year to some degree. Every conference fluctuates somewhat annually.

If Miami lost it would just be UNC and Duke left and no one would care but 3 teams in the last 16 is a great showing any year. Miamis region is pretty open too I don’t think Kansas is that good they could be plying Providence for a trip to the Final Four.

Thank you. You might want to bold the words top to bottom. We have some teams doing well in the tournament. Great! But that doesn't mean the league TOP TO BOTTOM was that great this year. That includes the teams that didn't make the tournament, even if some want to ignore that.

Objectively, it doesn't change anything. The ACC conference still only had one ranked team for 90+% of the season, which is a barometer of league "strength" that goes beyond perception based yo-yo'ing.

It also doesn't change our losing conference record.

Upsets happen in the NCAA tournament. Good for Miami for putting on a glass slipper. But I don't understand how having 2 teams means "no one would care" but 3 teams changes that? Or that Miami getting hot at the right time somehow means that an entire season of league performance somehow is invalidated.

Regular season and NCCA Tournament performance, for leagues and individual teams, both mean something. Exactly what depends on one's perspective and agenda.

Beyond admission to the tournament how much does it mean beyond the enjoyment fans get from watching their team win games as opposed to losing them.

If you win enough games to get admission you technically can win the tournament and the only championship recognized from any sede position from #1 to last 4 in.

My team can have a mediocre season, but do just enough to get in (or not do anywhere near enough, but get hot and win the conference tournament and auto bid) and have a shot at winning the national championship.

Some teams take awhile to put things together or may have a key player injured who doesn’t become available until February or March and all of a sudden that team is potentially a threat to win despite having what might look like a mediocre regular season.

Not arguing so much as offering additional perspective.

Exactly! It's March Madness! And, it's what makes this tournament appealing for so many. I mean, St. Peters beat UK, UK would beat St. Peters 99 out of 100 times.

Great finish! Ossuniyi with a big block to seal the win.
Virginia missed some late free throws and then Clarke tries to go cost to cost and Ossuniyi put his shot into the stands. Virginia didn’t score for the last two and a half minutes. Beakmam got called for a horrible offensive foul in the final minute that was his fifth foul. Total flop.

You just broke the fourth wall and used his real name instead of his handle…

This is like in the movie Pleasantville when things turned to color from black and white.
As a proud graduate of Pleasantville (NY) High School, alma mater of Otis Hill, I think this is the first reference I've seen to the movie in more than 20 years.

We'd be right there with all these 4 teams playing tonight I just am not sure we'd beat any.

Sad and depressing.

I’m sorry, but I can’t let that stand.

Otis Hill is a graduate of Pleasantville (NY) High School the alma mater of the legendary CTO!!! A school should be known for its greatest and most legendary graduates, not merely it’s SU hoops alumni.

UVA will be better now that Clark has moved on. I assume he is done right? Didn't he play with Sampson and Olden Polynice?
